Position Summary</b></div><div>
 The Pharmacy Technician is an integral member of the Department of Pharmacy. The Pharmacy Technician, under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist, assists in preparation, dispensation, and inventory management of all medications and supplies in the Department of Pharmacy. The Pharmacy Technician works independently and cooperative with members of the Department of Pharmacy, Nursing, and Materials to provide safe, accurate and timely delivery of medications to patients. The Pharmacy Technician has the technical ability to utilize Pharmacy automation systems and the electronic health record (EHR). Abides by all HIPAA, DOD, CMS, state, federal and board of pharmacy laws and regulations, as well as departmental and organizational policies to protect the privacy of customers and MPHC</li><li>

Tasks may also include responsibilities of technical training and participation in departmental projects. <ul><li>Perform all required pharmaceutical dosage calculations necessary to prepare extemporaneous dosage forms as applicable under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.

The Pharmacy Technician performs a variety of duties to assist the staff pharmacist. Duties may include ordering, inventory control, preparing iv admixtures, packaging, labeling and distribution of medications and other pharmacy supplies needed for use in the hospital.
