 The Regional Phlebotomy Manager (RPM) is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of phlebotomy services within a designated region. Under the direction of the Account Director, the RPM supervises the Phlebotomists (PSRs), ensuring that all daily tasks are completed accurately and on time. This role maintains a safe, professional, and compliant environment for patients, clients, and employees by overseeing PSR activities, implementing policies and procedures, and providing effective leadership.
 
 
 
 Key Responsibilities
 
 
 
 
 Essential Functions:

 Travel to client locations within the designated region on short notice.
 </li>
 <li>
 Implement and distribute Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for phlebotomy services in accordance with Mako guidelines, including daily PSR tasks, CIR resolution, and PPE management.
 </li>

 Provide leadership to the team, solving problems, making decisions, assisting in procedure development, and attending client meetings with the Account Manager.
 </li>
 <li>
 Manage the employee hiring process, including job descriptions, performance expectations, and participation in interviews and selection of PSR employees.

 Supervise and evaluate PSR performance, conduct employee orientation, training, and continuing education.
 </li>
 <li>
 Coach, counsel, motivate, and evaluate employee performance on a continual basis, implementing disciplinary actions as needed in consultation with upper management and HR.

 Coordinate the work of phlebotomists to ensure consistent production and service levels.
 </li>

 Conduct site visits as assigned, documenting findings and assisting with quality assurance (QA) audits.

Collaborate with program leadership to systematically review, enhance, and update instructional materials, ensuring alignment with current industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices in healthcare education.</li><li>Expert Instruction in EKG and Phlebotomy: Deliver comprehensive, high-quality instruction in EKG and Phlebotomy, including cardiac physiology, heart rhythms and arrhythmias, venipuncture techniques, infection control, and historical and regulatory foundations. Guide students in the practical application of technical skills, including troubleshooting EKG equipment and procedures.</li><li>Instructional Planning and Delivery: Prepare and organize course materials in advance, maintaining current syllabi, lesson plans, and classroom resources. Present content in a clear, engaging, and accessible manner tailored to diverse adult learners. Support student readiness for certification exams, including those administered by the National Healthcareer Association, by reinforcing critical competencies in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, laboratory procedures, and infection control.</li><li>Collaborative Student Support: Proactively communicate with CPS staff to highlight student achievements, address challenges, and identify opportunities for instructional improvement. Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities: 


1. Performs all duties of a Phlebotomist I

2. Performs routine and complex specimen procurement processes

3. Instruct and train others in phlebotomy techniques

4. Responds to or may direct responses to inquiries concerning phlebotomy policies and procedures

5. Performs data entry and computer tasks related to order entry and phlebotomy

6. Maintains phlebotomy area and equipment 


Minimum Eligibility Requirements: 


1. High school graduation or equivalent, and 


2. Current certification as a Phlebotomist Technician by ACA (American Certification Agency), AMT (American Medical Technologists), ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology), NCA (National Center for Competency Testing), NCCT (National Credentialing Agency) or NHA (National Healthcareer Association), and 


3. Six months full-time experience performing phlebotomy work, or completion of a Phlebotomy training program.
