JOB SUMMARY<ul><li>
Performs accurate patient identification, locates laboratory orders placed by authorized orderers, performs phlebotomy and other collections, processes and packs specimen for transport to the testing facility. May perform waived point of care testing and chain of custody toxicology collections. Patients are serviced with respect, compassion, and professionalism.</li></ul>

Accurately labels specimens and verifies specimen integrity.</li><li>
Organizes and cleans phlebotomy stations and/or phlebotomy collection bags.</li><li>
Follows safety policies and procedures and pays special attention when disposing of contaminated sharps.</li><li>
Nursing Homes: Performs phlebotomy at patients&rsquo; residence.</li></ul>
3. Accessions laboratory test requests, including keying patient demographics into the Laboratory Information System (LIS). Performs accessioning of specimen orders. (40%)*<ul><li>
Obtains and/or verify pertinent patient information for laboratory testing and/or billing purposes.</li><li>
Verifies information on requisitions for accuracy; obtains information as needed to ensure completeness.</li><li>
Enters specimen information into Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).</li><li>
Creates Test in Question (TIQs) that would affect testing. Resolves TIQs as applicable.</li></ul>
4. PSC, WCCHC and Guam/Saipan: Performs Non-Phlebotomy collections as required. (5%)<ul><li>
Performs urine drug collections (UDC).</li><li>
Accurately identifies donor and completes chain of custody documents according to SOPs.</li><li>
Performs same sex observed urine drug collections.</li><li>
Serves as a witness on behalf of DLS.</li><li>
Performs breath alcohol testing (BAT).</li><li>
Performs observed nasal, nasal, and/or nasopharyngeal collections.</li><li>
Performs after hours collections at client or designated locations.</li></ul>
5. Prepares samples to be transported and/or shipped to Central or Reference Laboratory for testing. (10%)*<ul><li>
Ensures proper IATA process is completed as required.</li><li>
Nursing Homes:<ul><li>
Processes order through the reference laboratory&rsquo;s electronic health record (HER) system.</li><li>
Performs quality control (QC) on specimens before transport.</li></ul></li><li>
Guam/Saipan/Neighbor Islands: Pick up and drop off specimens from Patient Service Center to the main lab.</li></ul>
6. PSC, Guam/Saipan: Receives and processes invoices for laboratory services and submits accurate payment information to the Billing Department. (5%)<ul><li>
Reconciles cash/credit card payments daily.</li><li>
Bank deposits as needed.</li></ul>
7. Nursing Homes: Assists client services as needed. (10%)<ul><li>
Contacts clients with critical laboratory results.</li><li>
Performs client requests to add-on tests.</li></ul>

QUALIFICATIONS

Job Summary:
The Ambulatory Service Representative (ASR) welcomes patients and families and performs check-in procedures in a timely, customer friendly and efficient manner in accordance with VCH guidelines. Responsible for the patients' pre and in-person registration including the accurate capture and validation of demographic and insurance information, insurance eligibility, and the collection of co-payment, deductible and other known self-pay amounts. Partners with providers to schedule new referrals and follow up appointments for patients and coordinates appointments with other departments Participates in department projects that result in process improvements to support accomplishment of strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:

<div>JOB SUMMARY 
The Phlebotomist at North Mississippi Health Services plays a critical role in the collection and transportation of lab specimens. This role ensures the accurate and efficient transport of lab-related supplies, equipment, and specimens while adhering to regulatory guidelines and safety standards. The phlebotomist is responsible for proper specimen handling, processing, and conducting venipunctures, finger sticks, and other procedures on various patient populations. 
JOB FUNCTIONS 
Distribution and Transportation:

<li>Accurately and efficiently transports lab-related supplies, equipment and specimens.</li>
<li>Transport specimens in compliance with regulatory guidelines.</li>
<li>Responsible for maintenance and appearance of assigned specimen processing vehicles.</li>
<li>Abides all laws and regulations while driving assigned vehicle. Specimen 
Handling &amp; Processing:</li>
<li>Properly identifies patients and collects specimens in compliance with regulatory guidelines.</li>
<li>Processes specimens and accurately applies appropriate barcode labels prior to delivery to specific lab departments for testing.</li>
<li>Performs venipunctures, finger sticks, heel sticks, assists physician with bone marrow collection, point of care glucose and iSTAT testing in compliance with regulatory guidelines on all applicable patient populations at facility and area nursing homes. 
Communication:</li>
<li>Accurately and efficiently address/respond to inquiries concerning specimen processing. Customer Service.</li>
<li>Answer telephone in an polite and efficient manner. Employee Relations:</li>
<li>Works as part of a team with all Pathology and NMHS employees. 
Reporting/Recordkeeping:</li>
<li>Accurately reports point of care testing results in timely manner.</li>
<li>Accurately performs point of care quality control.</li>
<li>Accurately documents all necessary information on patient specimen tubes/containers and in Laboratory Information System (LIS).</li>
<li>Assist with maintaining inventory related to specimen processing. Education:</li>
<li>Participates in continuing education programs to maintain and expand skills.

<li>Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines.</li>

<div>TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
<ul><li>Oversees phlebotomy operations and personnel on all shifts including scheduling available staff in an efficient manner.</li>
<li>Communicate Facility Concerns to Area managers</li>
<li>Work with Area Managers and other Field personnel in such a way as to provide excellent customer service.</li>
<li>Must be able to work under minimal supervision and accurately maintain time records.</li>
<li>Regularly reviews phlebotomy competency, providing training, skills assessment and in-service education of assigned staff as required.</li>
<li>Monitoring STAT&rsquo;s, Peak &amp; Trough and after hours specimen collection.</li>
<li>Interacts with Phlebotomy Manager and Laboratory Director to ensure that these personnel are trained in such a way as to provide phlebotomy services satisfactorily and within local, state and federal regulations.</li>
<li>Prepares and evaluates reports indicating phlebotomy production progress.</li>
<li>Prepares regular and annual evaluations of phlebotomy staff.</li>
<li>Works cooperatively with all other departments, including but not limited to: Laboratory Dispatch, Courier Dispatch, Couriers, Accessioning, Customer Service and Data Entry.</li>
<li>Extensive knowledge of required specimen preservation, adequate patient preparation and specimen procedures. Monitors that personnel follow established protocols.</li>
<li>Regularly reports to Phlebotomy Manager.</li>
<li>Must conduct business in a professional and ethical manner and lead by example.</li>
<li>Responsible to attend to the immediate needs of phlebotomy personnel.</li>
<li>Constant in-service of phlebotomy personnel regarding safety, resident&rsquo;s rights and conduct, company changes in policy, procedures and local, state and Federal Compliance.</li>
<li>Diligently monitor phlebotomist personnel activities including time tracking, travel, general practices, provided operational reports.</li>
<li>Assists with oversight of morning courier operations, scheduling available staff and monitoring routes.</li>
<li>Minimal housekeeping of their assigned drop site and/or workstations.</li>
<li>Review and approve phlebotomists working regular hours and overtime. Responsible for accurate and timely submission of time and mileage sheets to payroll department.</li>
