</h1>Chatham University welcomes applications for an Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy. This is a 12-month appointment, tenure-eligible position.
We are seeking an individual with expertise in Orthopedic Physical Therapy along with experience in Clinical Education who values collegiality and is motivated to contribute to the Program&rsquo;s excellent reputation for entry-level education.
As a faculty member on the tenure track, the candidate will be required to engage in teaching, scholarship, advising, and service, and must hold a license to practice as a physical therapist in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Duties and Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Teach content in orthopedic physical therapy (expertise demonstrated through work history, specialist certification, and/or research).
</li><li>Experience in clinical education (i.e., clinical instructor, clinical coordinator, or clinical experience management).
</li><li>Facilitate problem-based learning groups and update cases as needed.
</li><li>Collaborate with program faculty to ensure consistency with educational themes throughout the curriculum.
</li><li>Engage in program, college, and university activities to include professional service and scholarship within areas of interest, and in alignment with the program's mission.
</li><li>Contribute to curriculum development and program evaluation.
</li><li>Participate in DPT admissions activities.

<ul><li>One of the following is required:
<ul><li>A terminal academic degree completed or in progress (e.g., PhD, DSc, EdD)
</li><li>DPT combined with board certification (OCS or SCS preferred)

Job Summary: 
Victory Learning Center is seeking a Physical Therapist to work with students aged 5 to 21, primarily diagnosed on the Autism spectrum, with mental health and/or behavioral concerns, and developmental or intellectual disabilities. The Physical Therapist will collaborate with other educators to plan and implement appropriate therapeutic interventions tailored to the individual needs of students. This role involves creating a flexible and supportive environment where students can engage in specialized physical activities that promote motor skills, coordination, strength, and overall physical well-being. The therapist will work in various educational settings, providing individualized and group therapy to students based on their IEP needs.
 
Essential Job Duties: 
<ul>
<li>Reviews all available documentation related to the individual prior to beginning treatment; including the IEP, script and prior evaluations if available.</li>
<li>Develops an appropriate treatment plan for each individual.</li>
<li>Provides direct physical therapy services to students both individually and in group settings according to IEP and accepted professional standards and practices.</li>
<li>Monitoring student progress and adjusting therapy plans as necessary to ensure continuous improvement. Performs appropriate parent/caregiver education and develops home programs as necessary.</li>
<li>Submits weekly notes and billing based on agency requirements.</li>

SCOPE OF WORK: To educate students and to develop curricula in the Respiratory Therapy program and to assist in departmental and/or institutional activities that support the mission of the college. This position is located within the Department of Allied Health and shall report to the Department Chair of that department.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
<ul><li>Serves as the Coordinator of Clinical Education with responsibility for directing all aspects of the clinical experiences for students enrolled in the program, including organizing, administering, reviewing, and revising clinical instruction and outcomes for evolving practice skills, developing clinical locations (with appropriate supervision) and overseeing the general effectiveness of the clinical experience.</li>
<li>Teaches assigned Respiratory Therapy courses within a classroom, laboratory, and/or clinic/field experience setting, as assigned.</li>
<li>Supervises student learning activities and academic progress and maintains accurate records of student progress and accomplishments. Consults with and interprets these for students and maintains accessibility and availability to assist students with their learning needs.</li>

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Master&rsquo;s degree from a regionally accredited college or university with major study in Education, Adult Education or Respiratory Therapy. Possession of a Master's degree in Education or Adult Education shall require twelve (12) graduate credits in Respiratory Therapy or in Health related discipline and a Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy.
Experience: Three years&rsquo; experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist or as a Respiratory Therapy instructor, with least two (2) years in clinical respiratory care and/or two (2) years&rsquo; experience teaching either as an appointed faculty member within a CoARC-accredited respiratory care program or as a clinical instructor/ preceptor for students of such programs.

Education: Bachelor&rsquo;s degree from a regionally accredited college or university with major study in Education or Respiratory Therapy. Possession of a Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Education shall require an Associate&rsquo;s degree in Respiratory Therapy.
Experience: Four (4) years&rsquo; experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist or as a Respiratory Therapy Instructor, with at least two (2) years in clinical respiratory care and/or two (2) years&rsquo; experience teaching either as an appointed faculty member in a CoARC-accredited respiratory care program or as a clinical instructor/ preceptor for students of such programs.
Licensure/Certifications: Valid driver&rsquo;s license. Valid Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) credential and current state license.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Complete the CoARC Key Personnel Training Program within one year of employment.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Teaching experience in Respiratory Therapy. Experience in collaborative co-teaching environments, online teaching, curriculum development, course equivalency evaluation, and the creation of transfer and articulation agreements. Familiarity with teaching and clinical software including Zoom, Canvas, and Trajecsys.

Provides evaluation services including review of pertinent historical information, performance of specific assessments, and determination of recommendations and documentation of results. Consults with other healthcare professionals as indicated. Completes appropriate discharge planning and follow-up care. Accurately and timely documents and charges for patient care activities considering our evolving health care environment, painting a clear picture of the patient's course of care including focused initial evaluation/plan of care that establishes baseline and goals, daily encounter notes, interim progress summaries, and discharge evaluation.</li></ul></div><div><ul><li>
Demonstrates effective time management and meets productivity expectations. Manage an accurate schedule.
