Overview
Our Nurse Practitioner (NP) plays a critical role in assessing patients' mental and physical health based on symptoms and complaints. They collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop, implement, and evaluate treatment plans, which may include conducting individual psychotherapy, diagnosing psychiatric disorders, and prescribing medications. NPs also order diagnostic tests, monitor patients&rsquo; medication use and side effects, and educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options. They must maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) while adhering to HIPAA, state regulations, and national standards of care.<div></div> 
Salary
The salary range for this position is $125,000 - $135,000.<div> 
</div>Responsibilities
Treatment Planning &amp; Implementation:<ul><li>
Provide care to adolescent and adult patients, or across the lifespan, as assigned.</li><li>
Assess patients&rsquo; mental and physical status based on presenting symptoms and complaints.</li><li>
Diagnose psychiatric disorders and mental health conditions.</li><li>
Distinguish between physiologically- and psychologically-based disorders and diagnose appropriately.</li><li>
Conduct individual psychotherapy for those with chronic or acute mental disorders.</li><li>
Order appropriate diagnostic testing such as EKGs, lab work, and other forms of testing as needed.</li><li>
Prescribe psychotropic medications, including controlled substances, and educate patients on medication risks, benefits, and side effects.</li><li>
Monitor patients&rsquo; medication usage, side effects, and results.</li><li>
Evaluate patients&rsquo; behavior and response to treatment to assess the effectiveness of interventions.</li><li>
Work effectively with difficult patients, verbally deescalating when necessary.</li><li>
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop, implement, or evaluate treatment plans.</li><li>
Educate patients and family members about mental health conditions, treatment plans, and medications.</li></ul>
Compliance &amp; Documentation:<ul><li>
Document patients&rsquo; medical and psychological histories, physical assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, and outcomes.</li><li>
Complete administrative documentation related to patient care, including FMLA and other Brave-approved forms.</li><li>
Schedule and coordinate appropriate follow-up appointments and ongoing treatment needs.</li><li>
Complete all patient visits and accurate documentation in the EHR.</li><li>
Practice in compliance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, national standards of care, and internal policies.</li><li>
Use recommended references and consult with the Clinical Director and/or Medical Director as needed for clinical guidance.</li></ul><div></div> 
Qualifications<ul><li>
2 years experience practicing as a Nurse Practitioner</li><li>
Currently holds a Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner license (PMHNP)</li><li>
Experience in Addiction and Mental Health</li><li>
Open to obtaining additional state licensures
</li><li>Motivational Interviewing experience</li><li>
Willingness to work in partnership with the client to achieve goals</li><li>
Must have experience working with adults in need of general mental health and/or severe mental illness (SMI) treatment

Nurse Practitioner - Part-time - WEEKENDS ONLY

Serenity Center

<div>The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMNNP) will provide outpatient psychiatric evaluation and

medication management services at Serenity Center. The PMHNP will work in coordination with outpatient counseling services to

provide psychiatric services to children and adult clients with behavioral health issues. The PMHNP will work

out of one or more our office sites in the NY Area. Services will initially be office-based, with

the opportunity to grow telehealth services in the future to serve clients at remote locations. The PMHNP will

work in collaboration with a Medical Assistant to coordinate client care, assist with insurance pre-authorization,

and caseload management.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

Minimum Required Education:
