<p><b>GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:</b></p>
<p>Maintains all records generated by Police personnel for both public and official Police use; performs directly related work as required.</p>
<p><b>DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:</b></p>
<p>The principal function of an employee in this class is to electronically archive and retrieve records and provide requested information to the public and Police Officers. The work is performed under the supervision and direction of an assigned command officer but some leeway is granted for exercise of independent judgement and initiative. The nature of the work performed requires that an employee in this class establish and maintain effective working relationships with other City employees, representatives of other law enforcement jurisdictions, court officials, and the public. The principal duties of this class are performed in a general office environment.</p>
<p><b>EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL WORK:</b></p>
<ul><li>Enters I/O, arrest, citation, and accident reports;</li>
<li>Types and electronically archives incident offense reports, subpoenas, arrests, accidents, citations, tow in/drive reports, and related matters according to prescribed procedures and guidelines;</li>
<li>Prepares arrest packets and enters dispositions for court;</li>
<li>Enters subpoenas;</li>
<li>Enters bail conditions;</li>
<li>Enters arrest warrants;</li>
<li>Ensures the completeness and accuracy of all materials to be archived;</li>
<li>Maintains reports on archiving and creates separate files as necessary;</li>
<li>Greets visitors to the Department and provides requested file information or general information regarding Departmental policies and procedures;</li>

<li>Advises the public in the filling out of various forms as required for access to related Police records;</li>
<li>Retrieves reports, redacts as necessary, makes copies, and distributes to requesting members of the public;</li>
<li>Retrieves reports for Police personnel;</li>
<li>Performs record checks for members of the public, business organizations, Police Officers, probation officers, State and Federal law enforcement officials, and others, including checking proper identification of the individual to confirm the validity of the search;</li>
<li>Stores all incoming Police reports prior to scanning into the archives system;</li>
<li>Provides guidance and demonstrations to new employees in similar positions;</li>
<li>Keeps supervisors informed of work progress, issues, and potential solutions;</li>
<li>Attends meetings and training to stay current on relevant practices and developments;</li>

The position enforces state laws, traffic laws, and ordinances within Town limits while performing patrol activities. The position conducts investigations, makes arrests, issues citations, conducts property checks and performs community policing activities. Reports to sergeant or corporal.</p>

The programs pairs behavioral health clinicians with officers and deputies to respond together in situation of mental health crisis. The clinician performs brief assessments consulting with the officers to determine appropriate dispositions for services, arrests, diversion from arrests, diversion from unnecessary emergency department visits, or some combination of criminal justice/behavioral health treatment involvement. The clinician also facilitates training for police officers to increase competencies in intervening with a behavioral health crisis. The clinician will work in conjunction with and collaboratively as part of the Emergency Service Provider.</p><br>

Duties &amp; Responsibilities:</b></p>

Provide rapid crisis intervention and assessment to individuals who have come to the attention the of police, on an as-needed basis.</li><li>
Provide face to face or telephonic follow-up with persons served when clinically indicated.</li><li>
Accompany police officers on patrol as allowed by officer in charge.</li><li>
Work in collaboration with police to ensure that persons with behavioral health needs are appropriately diverted from the criminal justice system and referred for appropriate behavioral health services.</li><li>

The Position<br>
The Police Chief plans, directs, and coordinates the activities and operations of the department. The work involves responsibility for the protection of lives and property in the community through supervision of all police functions. Minimum Qualifications:</div>
<ul><li>Ten (10) years of law enforcement experience, with five (5) years of law enforcement supervision as a police chief, assistant police chief, captain, lieutenant, sergeant, or equivalent</li>
<li>Missouri POST requirements established by Missouri State Statutes</li>
<li>Valid driver&rsquo;s license and a good driving record</li>
<li>Be able to undergo and pass a physical, medical, and psychological examination, including a drug screening, and a background check</li>
</ul><div>While residency within the city limits is not a requirement, it is strongly encouraged. The selected candidate must have the ability to respond within a timely manner.<br>

Preferred Qualifications:</div>

The salary range for this position is $78,340 - $112,803.
