Responsibilities</b></h3><div><br>
Budget and Policy Analysts at DOB are typically involved in:</div><ul>
<li>Analyzing, developing, and implementing key aspects of the Financial Plan with a particular emphasis on reviewing and analyzing budget estimates and operating trends. Drafting recommendations and materials to guide decision-making, including articulating nuanced issues, illustrating trends and projections, and synthesizing data.</li>
<li>Managing the State&rsquo;s Financial Plan including tracking operational metrics, projecting and monitoring spending trends, , and working with counterparts to mitigate fiscal risks.</li>
<li>Providing support to examiners and agency staff in setting fiscal policy, determining appropriate funding mechanisms, transactional steps, and reporting methods.</li>

The Associate Analyst position is a temporary, full-time, limited term assignment for a duration of no more than about a year and two months, and no later than June 30, 2027, contingent on the availability of funds.</p><p>
The Judicial Council&rsquo;s Policy and Research Office works in collaboration with the Judicial Council and the courts to identify and develop research and policy agendas on emerging, immediate, and long-term issues integral to the judicial branch. In close partnership with other Judicial Council offices, the courts, and other stakeholders, Policy and Research coordinates, promotes, and supports the advancement of these research and policy agendas with the public and with California&rsquo;s executive, legislative, and judicial branches.</p><p>
The Associate Analyst reports directly to the Principal Advisor. Primary responsibilities include data collection and preparing reports to the Legislature. The Associate Analyst will be responsible for collecting data relating to immigration, court reporter staffing and the use of remote hearing technology.
