<div>The Birnbaum lab at NYU Biology is looking for a highly motivated and independent individual to work as a Postdoctoral Associate. This position is based in New York and the selected candidate will be expected to work onsite as of their effective start date.
This position is for a post-PhD trainee preparing for a research scientist career path. The planned position will provide a transition to career independence through the development of professional skills; supervision by senior scientist incorporating individual development plan in support of training goals and those of faculty mentor; and publication of research findings/scholarship during postdoc appointment period.
Projects in the lab focus on the molecular mechanisms of plant cell regeneration and cell-cell signaling. The project will combine plant genetics and genomics with whole-genome single-cell screening approaches developed in the lab. The successful candidate will also develop expertise in live-cell light sheet microscopy and computational analysis, with access to a high-performance computing cluster configured for machine learning and large-scale structural prediction using AlphaFold. Research in the lab spans three plant systems &mdash; Arabidopsis, maize, and sorghum &mdash; offering a broad comparative perspective on regeneration biology.

 About Project
 
 
 
 CERP Research Development develops and supports CERP&rsquo;s portfolio of research projects through collaboration with academia, funders, research partners, and government departments. It assists CERP&rsquo;s Research Fellows (faculty and experts based in international and Pakistani universities and multilateral organizations) in starting and managing new research studies hosted at CERP. The Research Development team also conducts research and scoping studies in partnership with CERP Research Fellows. It is involved in organizing international and local academic conferences and dissemination initiatives to share the learnings from CERP-affiliated studies and researchers with policymakers and the public at large.
 
 
 CERP Research Development is partnering with Princeton University&rsquo;s Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment to develop a new research initiative, Pakistan Energy Sustainability Pathways Project (Net-Zero Pakistan). This rigorous research will be accompanied by consistent coordination with policymakers and stakeholders in Pakistan&rsquo;s energy and economic space, aiming to provide them with a transparent, rigorous, and holistic analysis to explore economy-wide pathways to net-zero greenhouse gases for Pakistan. The project will analyze such pathways&rsquo; impacts on the country's resources, infrastructure, and socio-economic aspects, all the while ensuring that Pakistan achieves its economic growth and development objectives. It will provide spatial and temporal granularity to understand the infrastructure build-out, land use changes, investment required, employment dynamics, and socio-economic outcomes at the industry/sector and community level.
 
 
 The project&rsquo;s Principal Investigators are Chris Greig (Senior Research Scientist, Andlinger Center, Princeton University), Maroof Ali Syed (CEO, CERP), and Syed Uzair Junaid (Director, Research Development).
 
 
 The project is planned to continue till December 2028, with its scoping phase completing by December 31, 2026.
 
 
 
 Role Overview
 
 
 
 The Postdoctoral Researcher will manage and serve as the in-country technical lead for CERP&rsquo;s Net-Zero Pakistan Project, which will build on Princeton University&rsquo;s impactful Net-Zero America (NZA) study that developed granular spatial, temporal, sectoral, technological, and socio-economic analyses to describe different energy-system transition pathways for Pakistan to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions. This project aims to inform the country&rsquo;s energy, decarbonization, and economic policymaking for the coming decades.
 
 
 The Postdoctoral Researcher will report to and work closely with the Principal Investigators mentioned above, ensuring that the study plans are executed in a timely and effective manner. He/She will be the technical lead for the in-country team and manage the overall research operations of the project. He/She will liaise with partners, funders, and stakeholders, and supervise other team members on the project.
 
 
 The Postdoctoral Researcher will initially be hired for the project&rsquo;s scoping phase (from April 1 to December 31, 2026) with a strong possibility of extension until the project&rsquo;s completion (December 2028), subject to funding availability and performance.

Details of Research Project: 
In this research project, the postdoctoral fellow will investigate the use of selective modified mRNA to treat different disease, such as diabetic foot, skin ageing and cardiac regeneration. Using murine and pig models, they will performed detailed activity and identify therapeutic genes that could promote regeneration and rejuvenations. Our studies are designed to advance toward human clinical trials and evaluate therapeutic value. 
Technical Duties: 
The candidate will be responsible for conducting in vitro screening experiments; preparing modified mRNA; formulating and characterizing lipid nanoparticles (LNPs); analyzing high-throughput datasets; designing, planning, and analyzing in vivo studies in small and large animal models; summarizing research findings; and preparing manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals.

PSYCHOLOGY POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW
 Behavioral Health Services
 Salary: $57,500
 
Job Duties: Under the general supervision of licensed Clinical Psychologists, ONE Postdoctoral Fellow will receive specialized training and education in the delivery of psychological care to individuals served by the Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Services (BHS). At least 65% of the Fellow’s time will be spent in the provision of direct psychological services to individuals with a variety of behavioral health needs. A Postdoctoral Fellow’s daily responsibilities will routinely include some or all of the following: diagnostic interviews, psychological assessments, crisis intervention, individual psychotherapy, clinical documentation, team meetings, and clinical consultation as part of an interdisciplinary approach to treatment. This position promotes the transfer of institutional and professional knowledge and constitute an investment in the future of mental health services. As BHS offers an array of crisis services for individuals of all ages in outpatient settings, there exists a diversity of training experiences available in the following clinical service/rotation areas: Mobile Crisis Services and the Outpatient Clinic Services. Minimum Qualifications: 
Experience: A prospective Postdoctoral Fellow must be a United States citizen who, by the beginning of the fellowship year, has completed all professional doctoral degree requirements from a regionally accredited institution of higher education in clinical or counseling psychology. This includes anticipated completion of a predoctoral internship meeting the standards established by the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC), although predoctoral internships accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) are preferred. Thus, prior to beginning the Fellowship program, the prospective Fellow must have the diploma in hand or a letter from the Director of Graduate Studies verifying the completion of all degree requirements, pending the institution graduation ceremony.
 Education: Possession or anticipated possession of a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from a regionally accredited college or university is required. Applicants who have obtained their doctoral degree from an institution of higher education accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) are preferred. The Original Examination is open to anyone with the required experience and education.
 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of psychological theory and skill in the application of the principles and techniques of clinical psychology; specific training in the treatment of individuals with severe and persistent mental illness; knowledge of state and federal regulations and guidelines; knowledge of psychiatric diagnostic nomenclature; treatment planning and individual/group/family therapy techniques. Training and supervision in group and individual psychotherapy and diagnostic assessment; leadership ability; knowledge of psychopathology; risk assessment/management skills; the ability to work effectively and harmoniously with patients, multidisciplinary treatment teams, other professionals, community agencies and others.
