Inside R&I, the Post Market Safety (PMS) group has direct responsibility for cosmetovigilance and pharmacovigilance operations for the United States, collaborating closely across the Americas Zone.
 
We are seeking an Associate Principal Scientist to independently lead technical and process-related activities within the Post-Marketing Safety group. In this pivotal role, you will partner with the Product Safety Evaluation group and other key stakeholders to lead product safety assessments for all over-the-counter (OTC) drug and cosmetic products marketed in the U.S. You will serve as a technical authority, providing direction and supervision to ensure the highest standards of consumer safety and regulatory excellence.
 
A Day in the Life: As an Associate Principal Scientist in Post Market Safety, your responsibilities will include:
 <ul>
<li>Medical Assessment & Vigilance: Perform expert medical assessments of adverse event case reports for seriousness, causality, and expectedness, maintaining the integrity of our vigilance operations.</li>
<li>Global Safety Analysis: Conduct global post-marketing safety analyses requested by cross-functional partners (Marketing, Product Safety, and Global PMS), translating safety data into strategic insights.</li>
<li>Regulatory Reporting: Lead the quality review and timely submission of all OTC drug and cosmetic MedWatch reports to the FDA, managing correspondence with partner companies and vendors.</li>
<li>Case Management & Follow-up: Query vendor databases to review adverse events and ensure appropriate follow-up. Notify relevant partner contacts and manufacturing sites of potential quality-related complaints.</li>
<li>Medical Liaison: Serve as a point of contact for case-related inquiries from the L'Oréal Call Center and Global PMS team. You will also prepare patch test letters and kits for physicians upon request.</li>
<li>Technical Stewardship: Maintain accurate documentation, recordkeeping, and archiving of all safety-related information in compliance with global SOPs.</li>
<li>Mentorship & Training: Train and supervise junior members of the PMS team and provide post-marketing safety training for new employees across the organization.</li>
<li>Process Optimization: Continuously review and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work processes to ensure agility and compliance.</li>

We Are Looking For: You are a highly organized medical or pharmaceutical professional with a meticulous eye for detail and a deep understanding of safety regulations.

<li>Education: Pharm.D., D.Ph., or a Nursing degree is preferred. A working knowledge of basic medical terminology is required.</li>

 The Center for Technology, Economics, and Development (CTED) at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) invites applications from individuals to be appointed as a Junior Research Scientist (AI-Blockchain Project) for a one-year period, with the possibility of renewal conditional on excellent performance.
 
 
 The Junior Research Scientist (AI-Blockchain Research) will support advanced, quantitatively intensive research at CTED with a primary focus on artificial intelligence, machine learning, mathematical modeling, and computational analysis. The Junior Research Scientist will play a central role in supporting research design, algorithmic development, data analysis, and coding tasks across CTED&rsquo;s interdisciplinary projects. Working under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI), Dr. Yaw Nyarko, and Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI), Dr. Ra&scaron;a Karapand&zcaron;a, the Junior Research Scientist will contribute to AI-driven and blockchain-enabled research related to commodities markets and economic development. The role requires strong foundations in mathematics and computer science, including statistical learning, optimization, simulation, and algorithmic reasoning. The successful candidate will use programming and computational tools (including Python, MATLAB, and related libraries) to develop, test, and evaluate machine learning models; review, proofread, and execute formal mathematical proofs; implement optimization and simulation-based methods; and analyze large and complex datasets. Responsibilities include supporting experimental and field-based research, preparing literature reviews, translating complex AI and mathematical findings into clear written outputs, and contributing to research reports, concept notes, and academic publications.
 
 
 Candidates must hold a Master&rsquo;s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics or a related field (e.g., Economics with a strong mathematics background). and have less than five years of relevant research experience; or hold a Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in a relevant field with any level of research experience. Applicants must have extensive coding experience, and preferably, applicants will have experience conducting field research in emerging countries and working on randomized controlled trials (RCTs). Strong publication record of biological discovery and/or methods development.</li><li>
Deep expertise in image analysis, including image processing, feature extraction, and morphological profiling. Familiarity with modern deep learning approaches (e.g., embeddings, foundation models) is a plus.</li><li>

SAIC is looking for a Data Scientist Associate to help the Identity and Data Sciences Laboratory (IDSL) which is tasked with identifying state-of-the-art technologies including facial recognition and AI, evaluating performance, and examining their applicability to existing or emerging customer use cases. <div><div>NATURE AND PURPOSE 
Incumbent will investigate novel biometeorological and biophysical methods to quantify woody perennial crops water use and stress. Efforts of the Assistant Project Scientist will involve several cropping systems (e.g. olives, almonds, pistachios, grapes) studied in field settings typical on commercial orchards and vineyards throughout California. Work will integrate with efforts of other team members involved in the GRAPEX and T-REX projects that aim to develop, refine, and apply remotely sensed tools for use precision management of vineyard and orchard systems. Focus will be on the integration of remote sensing with field-scale micrometeorological measurement techniques aiming to develop solutions for growers. 
The Project Scientist makes significant and creative contributions to a research or creative project in his/her academic discipline. The appointee possesses the subject matter expertise and the creative energy necessary to function at a high level of competence. The appointee will participate in activities to increase, improve, or upgrade competency. Appointees with Project (e.g., Scientist) titles may engage in University and public service. They do not have teaching responsibilities. Although the Project Scientist is expected to work independently under the general guidance of an academic member with an independent research program (i.e., Professor, Professional Researcher, Specialist in Cooperative Extension, etc.), he/she is not required to develop an independent research program or reputation. He/she will carry out research or creative programs with supervision by an individual in an academic title that carries with it automatic Principal Investigator status.
