THE ROLE

Principal UX Designer

We're looking for a Principal UX Designer to join our team - an essential hire to help build a best-in-class product design team at Quince. This is a unique opportunity for someone who wants to help build a best-in-class UX discipline from the ground up - while immediately impacting the core Quince e-commerce experience.

This is a hands-on IC role for someone who can move seamlessly between strategy and execution: shaping UX vision, designing elevated end-to-end experiences, and setting new standards for craft, systems, and usability. You'll thrive here if you're energized by a fast-moving startup environment but have a clear vision for how to scale design maturity and process over time.

You'll partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Brand leadership to deliver thoughtful, data-informed experiences across web, iOS, and Android. The work spans key e-commerce flows from product discovery and PDPs to checkout, order management, and post-purchase touchpoints, helping define how design drives both customer satisfaction and business growth.

You'll join a small but mighty design team at a pivotal moment - bridging the gap between execution and strategic UX direction. The ideal person brings experience from more mature product organizations and can introduce structure, systems, testing rigor, and design craft, while staying hands-on and adaptable within a fast-growing startup. Responsibilities

<li>Define and drive UX vision across key product surfaces (web, iOS, Android, B2B, and international).</li>
<li>Lead end-to-end design for core e-commerce experiences &mdash; from browsing and PDPs to cart, checkout, and order management &mdash; ensuring every touchpoint feels effortless, cohesive, and premium.</li>
<li>Design for a modern luxury brand &mdash; bringing aesthetic sensibility and restraint to digital experiences that convey quality and trust.</li>
<li>Partner closely with leadership (President, VP of Product, VP of Engineering, and cross-functional leads) to align UX strategy with business goals.</li>
<li>Introduce and operationalize user testing; define a scalable process for validation, iteration, and insight sharing.</li>
<li>Partner with Product and Analytics to drive experimentation and A/B testing, translating learnings into measurable UX and conversion improvements.</li>
<li>Improve and evolve our design system &mdash; refining components, documentation standards, and processes for implementation, iteration, and upkeep.</li>
<li>Help establish a foundation for micro-interactions and motion as part of our UX language, introducing this mindset to the broader team.</li>
<li>Collaborate cross-functionally to balance experimentation, data, and design excellence.</li>
<li>Provide mentorship and feedback to other designers, raising the craft and consistency of the team's work.</li>
</ul>
Qualifications

Required:
<ul>
<li>8+ years of product design experience, including e-commerce or consumer-facing platforms.</li>
<li>Proven experience designing for both web and mobile (iOS + Android).</li>
<li>Deep expertise in UX systems, scalable component libraries, and Figma best practices.</li>
<li>Strong understanding of end-to-end e-commerce journeys (shopping, cart, checkout, and post-purchase flows).</li>
<li>Experience running or collaborating on user research and usability testing.</li>
<li>Sharp aesthetic sensibility &mdash; you can design for a luxury brand and know the difference; you understand how to express craftsmanship, simplicity, and sophistication through digital design.</li>
<li>Thoughtful about micro-interactions, motion, and the small moments that elevate usability and delight.</li>
<li>Curiosity and a strong point of view on how to incorporate AI into the design process &mdash; for efficiency, exploration, and insight generation.</li>
<li>Excellent communication and storytelling skills; able to influence and inspire cross-functionally and at the leadership level.</li>
