A Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides basic health care and support to patients under the guidance of the Registered Nurse or designated healthcare professional. Summary
A Building Maintenance Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring that physical facilities, whether commercial, residential, or institutional, are kept in optimal condition. This professional oversees the day-to-day operations of maintenance services, plans and executes preventative maintenance strategies, addresses urgent repair needs, and champions standards for safety, efficiency, and sustainability.
The Building Maintenance Manager combines technical know-how with leadership abilities, effectively bridging hands-on work and administrative oversight. Their effectiveness directly impacts the longevity of building assets, the satisfaction of occupants, and the overall operational costs of a property.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS<ul><li>
Prioritize, schedule, and delegate work assignments, and directly supervise the building and grounds staff/vendors to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of the Clinic's buildings and grounds.</li><li>
Receive, prioritize, schedule, and provide the timely and satisfactory completion of work requests for the clinic's buildings and grounds.
</li><li>Maintenance Oversight: Supervise and coordinate the activities of maintenance personnel, including electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, janitorial staff, security and other specialists. Ensure all building systems, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, and safety, are functioning properly and maintained according to industry standards and local regulations.</li><li>
Preventative Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for all building systems and equipment. Schedule regular inspections, servicing, and necessary replacements to reduce downtime, prevent major repairs, and extend asset lifespans.</li><li>
Repair Management: Respond to work orders and emergency repair needs in a timely fashion. Diagnose problems, assign tasks, and oversee the completion of all repairs while minimizing disruptions to building operations.</li><li>
Budgeting and Cost Control: Manage the maintenance budget, monitor expenditures, and seek opportunities to optimize costs. Obtain quotes, evaluate vendor proposals, and manage contracts for outsourced work.</li><li>
Compliance and Safety: Ensure all activities comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., OSHA, fire safety codes, ADA). Conduct regular safety inspections, maintain records, and implement corrective actions as needed.</li><li>
Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with contractors, suppliers, and service providers. Oversee the quality, safety, and timeliness of outsourced maintenance and repair work.</li><li>
Inventory and Asset Management: Oversee the procurement and inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment. Maintain detailed records of equipment warranties, service histories, and asset conditions.</li><li>
Project Coordination: Plan and manage small to medium-sized renovation and upgrade projects. Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders as necessary to ensure successful outcomes.</li></ul>
KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS<ul><li>
Ability to communicate and work effectively with all levels of management, physicians, clinicians, and staff.</li><li>
At least 3 years' experience in a facilities position, preferably in a healthcare setting.</li><li>
Excellent computer and communications skills. Overall knowledge of clinical services.</li><li>
Ability to direct, manage, and coordinate all areas of facility services consistent core competencies.</li><li>
Possess excellent oral and written communication skills along with the ability to listen, understand, and influence.</li><li>
Displays professionalism in all communications.</li><li>
Ability to respond effectively and meet time deadlines.</li><li>
Effective and decisive under pressure caused by emergency situations.</li><li>
Independent/flexible problem solver with the ability to think and reason as well as cope positively with changes in the work environment.</li><li>

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:<ul><li>
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in facilities management, engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred.</li><li>
Certifications: Certifications such as Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Building Operator Certification (BOC), or similar credentials are highly valued.</li><li>
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in building or facilities maintenance.</li></ul>
