Mythics has an immediate need for a Project Accountant to join our Accounting team. This is a <b>REMOTE</b> position. The Project Accountant is responsible for handling the financial tasks associated with analysis, monitoring and reporting in support of assigned consulting projects and programs. You will coordinate interdepartmental development of program plans and interface with vendors and customers as required. You will monitor and report performance against plans to ensure that contractual cost and schedule objectives are met. This role also monitors the status of financial accounts, ensuring that task order charges accurately reflect the correct labor hours and rates, subcontractor costs and other direct costs (ODCs). Other tasks include monitoring spending versus plan and escalating any over runs/under runs. You will prepare financial reports, statements and estimates (such as 553M, 533Q, and cost estimate portion of the Task Order Plan) that are provided to the Government to ensure effective management. You will resolve reporting and compliance issues. This role works on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative and interfaces with various levels of management, responding to requests for financial data. Works under general supervision and develops solutions to problems with moderate scope/complexity.</div><div></div><p><b><br>

Handle various financial tasks for assigned consulting projects and programs, interfacing with team members, sales and consulting staff, management, and externally as needed to complete work activities.</li><li>

Monitor and maintain contract funding and modification reconciliation.</li><li>
Review and approve some opportunities/new bookings from the sales team.</li><li>
Review Estimate-At-Completion/-To Completion and perform variance analysis.</li><li>
Prepare ad hoc project reporting and analysis as required.</li><li>
Prepare month end project journal entries.</li><li>
Coordinate activities with support teams including Product Accounting, Contracts, and Sales.</li><li>

Prepare sales order documents and purchase orders in accordance with customer and vendor agreements.</li><li>

Maintain budget details, and cost and revenue buildup accurately before opportunity/booking approval is completed.</li><li>
