   Determines and negotiates low to moderate complexity claims settlement. Coordinates with management for guidance on assessing settlement amounts outside of authority limits to support managing claims outcomes.

   Applies knowledge of estimating technology platforms and virtual inspection tools to prepare and manage low to moderate complexity property insurance claims estimates

<li>Examines claims forms, policies and endorsements, client instructions and other records to determine coverages.</li>

<li>Sets loss reserves.</li>
<li>Prepares reports by collecting and summarizing information required by client, local, state and federal government and by Crawford.</li>
<li>Settles claims by determining client's coverages, liability, client's instructions and authority levels required by obtaining demands and making offers to claimants, issuing settlement checks, making filings with regulatory agencies, disposing of salvage, pursuing subrogation when appropriate.</li>
<li>Controls claims costs</li>
<li>Maintains company reputation and integrity of insurance products by complying with federal and state regulations and service standards.</li>
<li>Recommends litigation when appropriate.</li>
<li>Presents evidence at legal proceedings, producing reports and other documents as evidence.</li>
<li>Maintains expected case load.</li>
<li>Maintains professional and technical knowledge through continuing education.</li>
<li>May assist and mentor junior adjusters with claims handling.</li>
<li>Product supervision focuses primarily on product being presented to the client.</li>
<li>Unlimited authority to review and approve on reports and settlements for losses.</li>
<li>Upholds the Crawford Code of Business Conduct at all times.</li>
<li>Maintain acceptable product quality through compliance with service standards and compliance with internal quality control initiatives.</li>

Job Summary

This position supports the Property Claims operation by handling claims reported on Homeowner policies written by the Interinsurance Exchange in compliance with all regulatory and statutory requirements. The position requires the handling of claims of low to moderate complexities. The primary functions include interpreting information from First Notice of Loss reports, loss investigation, coverage evaluation, claims resolution and negotiation strategies. Employs discretion and independent judgment to ensure compliance with state and federal laws. Applies technical and customer service best practices in accordance with company guidelines.

Job Duties

Conduct phone investigations to determine coverage and damages. Identify and obtain statements from insureds, vendors, and witnesses. Responsible for maintaining proper activities and service levels.
<br><br>
Communicate and interact with a variety of individuals, including members, insureds and claimants. Explain policy coverages, benefits, and claims process either verbally and/or in writing which complies with regulatory and statutory requirements. Recognize and appropriately address common coverage issues.
<br><br>
Evaluate, assess, make decisions, and negotiate within settlement authority with insureds to resolve first-party claims in multiple markets. Demonstrate proficiency with assessment of personal property, property damage, loss of use, and claims technology and tool usage.

Coordinate with internal and external departments as required.

May attend and participate in legal proceedings.

Qualifications

Bachelors Equivalent combination of education and experience
