 Summary --
 
 
 
 The Night Security Patrol Officer is responsible for conducting nightly patrols of the property to ensure the safety and security of residents, guests, and common areas. This role focuses on deterrence, observation, and reporting &mdash; not confrontation.
 
 
 The ideal candidate is dependable, observant, calm under pressure, and comfortable working independently during evening and overnight hours. The candidate right for this role needs to be capable of handling confrontation and police liaison work. The role involves identifying and mitigating threats, such as break-ins or intruders, with a "safety first" mindset, being able to deescalate tense situations. VareCo views this role as a bridge between the property and the Des Moines Police Department.
 
 
 
 Responsibilities --
 
 
 
 <ul>

 Conduct scheduled nightly security patrols of the entire property, including:Interior and exterior common areas
 </li>

 Perform assigned patrol routes on foot as directed by management
 </li>
 <li>
 Complete required number of patrol walks per shift
 </li>
 <li>
 Wear provided identification during patrol
 </li>
 <li>
 Walk entire property including buildings, hallways, laundry rooms, parking lots, garages, and dumpster areas
 </li>
 <li>
 Inspect vacant units as directed by management
 </li>
 <li>
 Immediately contact law enforcement for unauthorized individuals, illegal activity, or safety threats
 </li>
 <li>
 Document and report all incidents promptly and accurately
 </li>

 Submit a minimum of 20 time-stamped photos per walk
 </li>

 Follow structured nightly rotation schedule (9:00 PM &ndash; 5:00 AM coverage)

Objective
