In this role you will influence all aspects of fire protection design, construction, operations, and maintenance for our global fleet of data centers. This includes fire suppression, fire detection, fire alarm, and mass notification systems, as well as fire-resistant construction and life safety. You will work with internal and external teams to define, design, detail, and document the various fire protection features that our facilities require, using both prescriptive and performance-based design approaches. As an Owner, you will strive to ensure the fire protection features of our buildings protect our people and keep our customer&rsquo;s data safe and uninterrupted over the life of the building. We expect you to contribute your expertise to the continual improvement of our fire protection design standards. 
 
Primary responsibilities will be to perform and oversee project-related work, such as water supply analysis and design for fire water service to buildings, including coordination with utilities and fire officials to establish basic site infrastructure requirements. The ability to coordinate fire protection system space requirements, supporting utilities, and equipment locations, and to provide detailed construction specifications for all fire protection-related trades will be expected. You will typically be responsible for the preparation of prescriptive designs for building fire suppression, alarm, and detection systems. In some cases, you will be expected to prepare or approve performance-based design elements as needed to support our goals. You will review all design disciplines to ensure they meet the minimum fire protection requirements described in our design standards. In some cases, you will oversee and review this work and in other cases you will perform the work yourself.
 
 
As the team&rsquo;s subject matter expert, you will ensure that contractors have the information they need to build our data centers the way we expect them to, and that our operations teams are well equipped to operate and maintain them as needed to meet our goals. Raytheon is seeking a Senior Mission Protection Systems Engineer to perform in a high tempo, dynamic small team environment. This high performing team is closely integrated with customers and contractors. This team operates at the center of critical US government functions enabling the nation to meet its national security plan and strategic goals. This position operates within a customer location. What You Will Do<ul><li>
Maintain situational awareness on evolving threats and new technologies to deliver tactical support to Mission Protection and Mission Operations.</li><li>
Serve as a technical subject-matter expert on multiple resiliency topics and capabilities. Perform project management/project leadership tasks collaborating with a multitude of customer and other contractor teams.</li><li>
Mission Protection expertise to DoD and IC Space training exercise and readiness events.</li><li>
Develop processes, procedures, and Concepts of Operations (CONOPs); build, coordinate, train, evaluate and analyze execution plans, supporting technical information, operating instructions and documents.</li><li>
Regularly provide technical inputs, analysis, presentations, training, and decision recommendations on Mission Protection topics to keep customer and contractor leadership apprised of activities, deliverables, problems, and opportunities.</li><li>
Provide Mission Protection support to enterprise projects as well as to other programs as directed by the customer.</li><li>
Create and present abstracts, white papers, and presentations to a variety of venues to include national level conferences.</li></ul>
Qualifications You Must Have<ul><li>
Typically requires a Bachelor&rsquo;s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 8 years of prior engineering experience or equivalent experience.</li><li>
Experience with mission protection or operations.</li><li>
Experience analyzing and evaluating data and events to recommend courses of action that support mission protection</li><li>
Experience developing, tailoring and delivering technical presentations for engineering, operations, customer and contractor teams</li><li>
Experience with senior leadership customer and contractor teams on complex issues.</li><li>
Experience with Microsoft Office Tool Suite</li><li>

Qualifications:

Preferred - Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) License and desire to pursue Professional Engineer (PE) License</li><li>

Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD</li><li>
Strong familiarity with NESC, IEEE, and other applicable codes and standards</li><li>
Must be self-driven in time management to meet deadlines and provide accurate deliverables, with the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders</li><li>
