Primary responsibilities of this Psychiatrist position include:<ul><li>
Direct patient care on one of the three inpatient psychiatric units with an average caseload of 10-15 patients. The Psychiatrist can practice both psychotherapy and medication management without restrictions.</li><li>

COMPETENCIES:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
<ul>
<li>Psychiatrist will see clients in an outpatient setting</li>
<li>Provides initial psychiatric diagnoses and assessments in emergency and non-emergency situations in both acute care and sub-acute care situations.</li>
<li>Provides medication management and other treatment interventions to clients and patients directly.</li>
<li>Provides coaching, instructions and direction to allied professional and paraprofessional staff and leads clinical team meetings.</li>
<li>Consults with general medical professionals regarding the psychiatric condition of their patients.</li>
<li>Rotates on call with other members of the clinical staff.</li>
<li>Attends and participates in and supports Medical Staff meetings and other committee assignments as may be directed by the Director, Medical Staff.</li>
<li>Assists in Performance Quality Improvement efforts of the organization.</li>
</ul>
RESPONSIBILITIES:
<ul>
<li>Conducts professional practice that is in compliance with the rules, regulations and by-laws of Porter-Starke Services and the standard of care that exists in Northwest Indiana and the Greater Chicago metropolitan area.</li>
<li>Assists in peer review and other assignments.</li>
<li>Attends to the required continuing education elements for the specialty certification and licensure of physicians and psychiatrists.</li>
<li>Maintains and completes clinical record keeping duties as described in either the Medical Staff By-laws or in compliance with the organization&rsquo;s policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Maintains credentials as required by certifying/licensing body. Participates in professional development and in-service programs as required by position.</li>
</ul>
EDUCATION &amp; EXPERIENCE:
<ul>
<li>A current license to practice medicine in the State of Indiana.</li>
<li>A current license in the United States to prescribe medications.</li>
<li>Completion of an accredited Training Residency in Psychiatry.</li>
<li>Eligibility for and/or certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.</li>
<li>Positive references from past professors and/or supervisors.</li>

ChildNet Youth and Family Services, Inc. is currently seeking a contract Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist, 16-24 hours/week onsite (in-person), to provide psychiatric evaluations and medication support and management to children and adolescent clients within our Behavioral Health Services Program located in Riverside, CA.The Psychiatrist promotes a strengths-based approach to treatment that empowers families, supports a community-based philosophy of service, and ensures that all clinical services are aligned with the agency&rsquo;s mission and values. Within agency guidelines and professional standards, the Psychiatrist functions independently and works directly with the Inland Empire Regional Director and Quality Assurance Administrator.This is a contracted position (16-24 hours per week onsite, in-person) for a board-certified child psychiatrist, specializing in child &amp; adolescent psychiatry. The position will be responsible for receiving referrals for evaluation from therapists. The psychiatrist will evaluate, diagnose, and treat psychiatric disorders, provide follow-up, psychosocial education, and support to clients and their families, review case histories, and maintain clinical materials in accordance with Riverside University Health System (RUHS) Behavioral Health requirements.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS<ul><li>Conduct psychiatric evaluations (psychosocial history, psychiatric symptoms, medical history, medication history, diagnosis) to assess and create a plan to treat a wide range of difficulties presented by children and adolescents.</li><li>Conduct patient appointments for established clients on a regular basis.</li><li>Foster therapeutic connections with your clients as well as communicate and build relationships with their caregivers.</li><li>Prescribe psychotropic medication, as needed. Provide medication management, follow-up, and psychiatric education regarding medication and possible side effects.</li><li>Work closely as part of the treatment team with the therapist, case manager, and others, both inside and outside of the agency, including families and collaterals.</li><li>Understand and comply with Agency policies and procedures, HIPAA regulations, RUHS policies and documentation guidelines, and other state &amp; federal regulations related to quality assurance.</li><li>Complete and submit clinical documentation within a 24-hour time frame utilizing the agency&rsquo;s electronic health record system (Exym).</li><li>Demonstrate medical/clinical leadership skills, a complete working knowledge of psychopharmacology, and experience in mental health service delivery to a broad-based individual and multi-cultural, diverse, patient population.</li><li>Provide coverage for absent psychiatrists.</li></ul>REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE <ul><li>Valid license to practice medicine (M.D. or D.O.) in the State of California.</li><li>Board certification or eligibility in Child &amp; Adolescent Psychiatry.</li><li>Current DEA license.</li><li>Competency in evaluating and treating children and adolescents with a wide variety of symptoms.</li><li>Ability to perform clinical duties within established guidelines in an organized and efficient manner.</li><li>Ability to embrace diversity, relate, and communicate well with all cultural and ethnic groups in the community.</li><li>Working knowledge of direct outpatient care and practices in a community clinic setting.</li><li>Bilingual/Spanish desirable.</li><li>General computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.), electronic health care records (EHR: Exym), and familiarity with medical records management.</li></ul>Contracted Salary: $210.00 to $230.00 /hourA comprehensive contract will be agreed to by both the Psychiatrist and ChildNet Youth and Family Services, Inc.
