 Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement, including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below. Specialized experience: Specialized experience is experience that provided you with knowledge of the properties and characteristics of regulated food commodities or other products for human consumption. Such experience may have been acquired in work such as consumer safety inspector or inspection aide, food inspector, public health inspector, quality inspection specialist, or similar position with responsibility for sampling, quality control and sanitation in a food manufacturing or production environment, or similar environment for other ingestible items. See specific grade level specialized experience definitions below. For the GS-05 Level: Applicants must have at least 52 weeks of qualifying experience that provided knowledge of the properties and characteristics of regulated food commodities and substances; such as: meat, poultry, fish, eggs, or other food or beverages for human consumption, or other ingestible substances, such as pharmaceuticals. You are to show in your resume examples such as applying proper techniques for collecting samples and/or performing field tests and examinations (e.g. identifying abnormalities in the product or production environment and recommending corrective actions), developing written reports and/or reporting findings of results orally (e.g. documenting abnormalities in the product or production environment and communicating those findings to others), and/or skill in maintaining effective personal contacts with a variety of individuals (e.g. discussing findings with internal or external contacts regarding the food safety standards established in the production environment), or other similar work making determinations on products for human consumption or the production environment (e.g. ensuring conformance with established standards). Such experience may have been acquired working positions such as consumer safety inspector or inspection aid, food inspector, public health inspector, quality inspection specialist, or other related position. For the GS-07 Level: In addition to the qualifications above, applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-05 level), and incumbents are expected to have performed standard and recurrent duties on an independent basis. Your resume should demonstrate at least 52 weeks of experience in independently carrying out routine, standard assignments on a regular and recurring basis that provided you with knowledge of the properties and characteristics of regulated food commodities and substances; such as: meat, poultry, fish, eggs, or other food for human consumption, and other ingestible substances, such as pharmaceuticals. For the GS-08 Level: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-07 level). In addition to the qualifications above, experience must include working with the Federal Meat, Poultry, and Egg Products Inspection Acts in order to inspect meat, poultry and egg products; working with basic SSOP and HACCP principles and practices in order to verify plant HACCP and SSOP responsibilities; performing basic mathematics and elementary statistical concepts and methods to perform testing and sampling procedures; and experience in reaching and interpreting conclusions. For the GS-09 Level: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-08 level). In addition to the qualifications above, incumbents are expected to have experience working at a more independent level than lower graded CSIs, which may include duties such as recommending refusal of exports and providing temporary coverage at locations outside of the official duty station. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Applicants must: Be physically and medically able to efficiently perform the essential job functions, without being a direct threat to themselves and others. Have full range of motion to perform rapid repetitive twisting and working with arms above shoulder level. Be able to stand and walk on slippery and uneven floors and catwalks, and climbing stairs and ladders. Typical Duties:<ul><li>
Monitors construction activities to ensure adherence to approved plans, specifications, codes and safety standards, escalating issues, and support timely resolution.</li><li>

Minimum Qualifications:
Airport Civil Inspector III:<ul><li>
High school diploma or equivalent plus four (4) years of construction or utility experience; one year of which must have been performing public infrastructure or utility inspection.</li><li>
Two (2) years of post-high-school education in a construction related field (construction management, engineering, etc.) may be substituted for two (2) years of the experiential requirement.</li><li>
 Incumbents must obtain re: American Public Works Association (APWA) Certified Public Infrastructure Inspection (CPII) certification or department approved equivalent within 6 months of hire date.</li><li>
Knowledge of utility, building, and zoning codes and applicable local, state, and federal code.</li><li>
Knowledge of construction standards, civil inspection methods and testing procedures pertaining to paving, grading, utilities, drainage, stormwater management, and erosion control.</li><li>
Ability to read plans, use computer applications, and perform basic construction related math.</li><li>

How does it get done?
 
The State Investigator is responsible for: 
Determining applicable policy;
 
Determining what policies and laws have been violated;
 
Determining criminal or administrative course of action;
 
Providing case management of special inquiries, Medicaid client fraud, Medicaid provider fraud, and public assistance fraud investigations under the jurisdiction of the Health Care Authority (HCA) Office of Inspector General (OIG).

Minimum Qualification
 
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration, Criminology, or other related field, with two (2) years of experience in accounting, auditing, and investigation, or insurance adjusting and investigating or investigative report writing. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
 Employment Requirements
 
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License.
 
Must Possess and maintain a current Defensive driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.
 
Employment is subject to a pre-employment criminal background investigation and is conditional pending results.
 Working Conditions
 
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required.

OVERVIEW
Under the supervision of the Deputy Chief, the Battalion Chief manages the activities and operations of one or more sections within the department, such as administration, training, operations, logistics, special operations, volunteer liaison, or privacy officer. This role ensures compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines within assigned areas and provides general and complex assistance to the Director of FireEMS (Chief) and Deputy Chief.
The Battalion Chief plans, organizes, and directs multi-company operations at emergency incidents and planned events. This position requires high-level leadership to mentor and evaluate personnel, manage budgets, and represent the department at public functions. Candidates must be prepared to assume the duties of the Incident Commander and may temporarily assume the duties of the Deputy Chief or Director of FireEMS as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS<ul><li>
Meet performance standards established with the direct supervisor.</li><li>
Manage the organization, staffing, and operational activities of assigned bureaus and programs.</li><li>
Participate in the development and implementation of the strategic plan for assigned areas.</li><li>
Create and implement innovative services, monitor effectiveness, and identify opportunities for improvement.</li><li>
Manage the implementation of changes and oversee service quality.</li><li>
Assist with the selection of personnel; mentor, direct, supervise, and evaluate assigned staff.</li><li>
Counsel, commend, or discipline personnel as appropriate.</li><li>
Assist in the development and administration of the assigned budget and forecast needed funds.</li><li>
Monitor and approve expenditures.</li><li>
Coordinate assigned services with other departments, divisions, and outside agencies.</li><li>
Represent the department at public functions and exercise decision-making authority at meetings.</li><li>
Respond to emergency incidents and assume duties as Incident Commander, Command Staff, or ICS General Staff.</li><li>
Resolve difficult inquiries and investigate complaints to implement corrective actions.</li><li>
Provide staff assistance to the Director of Fire and EMS, including preparing and presenting reports.</li><li>
Manage department staffing software for accuracy and efficiency.</li></ul>
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION / EXPERIENCE
Required:<ul><li>
Associate Degree in fire science, emergency management, public administration, business administration, or a closely related field.</li><li>
Five (5) years of full-time fire and EMS related experience.</li><li>
Three (3) years of full-time command staff experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).</li><li>
AEMT or Paramedic certified with the State of Utah.</li><li>
Certified Firefighter III in the State of Utah (ProBoard or IFSAC).</li><li>
Certified Fire Officer I in the State of Utah (ProBoard or IFSAC).</li><li>
NIMS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700a, and 800b Certifications.</li><li>
Valid Utah State driver's license.</li><li>
Fire Inspector I or Company Officer Inspector certification (within 1 year of hire).</li></ul>
Preferred:<ul><li>
Bachelor's degree.</li></ul>
