The primary purpose of this role is to enable the output of the communications and marketing team, offering support to management and expertise in one or more key functional areas of public relations and/or communications: media relations, events, social media and marketing. This role requires a passion for and extensive experience in writing and content development to support company-wide communications, both internally and externally.
What you&rsquo;ll do:<ul><li>
Work collaboratively with teams across Nexxen to develop strategic communications plans, messaging and written content for corporate announcements and product launches in Nexxen global regions</li><li>
Seek out and manage opportunities related to earned and paid media activities to increase Nexxen&rsquo;s visibility and differentiation in market</li><li>
Coordinate with colleagues on the global Marketing &amp; Communications team to ensure strategic go-to-market planning and implementation of PR and Marketing efforts</li><li>
Manage company awards programs and submissions for thought leadership and speaking opportunities</li><li>
Manage public relations files, contacts and company intranet content</li><li>
Build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders</li><li>
Engage and assist with managing relationships (with partners, sponsors, organizing committees and prospective supporters)</li><li>
Collaborate with management to set out and achieve specific communication goals, objectives as well as to define evaluation methods for determining success</li></ul>
What you&rsquo;ll bring:<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree with an emphasis in journalism, communication, public relations or marketing</li><li>
3-5 years of relevant experience; experience working within a PR agency welcomed!</li><li>
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to distill complex products and services into pithy, compelling points</li><li>
Demonstrated creative and analytical experience in writing and editing, particularly in AP Style</li><li>
Established relationships with journalists in the business, technology and advertising spaces</li><li>
Knowledge of current trends and techniques in marketing, public relations, media relations, advertising and social media</li><li>
Organizational skills and capacity to multi-task, collaborate, and pivot in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and within a set budget, to accommodate evolving industry dynamics and company objectives</li><li>
Strong work ethic, integrity and high level of confidentiality</li><li>
Willingness &amp; ability to travel, potentially internationally</li><li>
Written and spoken fluency in English is required 
In support of pay transparency and equity, the minimum and maximum full-time annual base salary for this role is $80,000 - $100,000. While this is our reasonable expectation this is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, education, certifications, responsibility, and geographic location. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. Responsible for administration and oversight of Marketing and Communications function and success. In close consultation with the Sr. Director of Marketing and Communications - plans, coordinates, supervises and evaluates library marketing, communications, public relations, and community programming initiatives. Responsible for leading the creation and development of multiple topics and categories to be featured on websites and in printed materials.
This is a full-time, exempt position with a starting salary of $93,007, plus excellent benefits .
Job Duties (Essential Functions)<ul><li>
Manages a multifaceted department, including: managing budgets and ensuring compliance with procurement and other financial policies; supervising staff and conducting performance reviews; establishing departmental procedures and work routines; and ensuring successful and timely completion of projects, etc.</li><li>
Acts as backup to Sr. Director of Marketing &amp; Communications ensuring continuity of program function and success.</li><li>
Develops outcome based, mission driven marketing and programming initiatives, and evaluates efforts to determine effectiveness.</li><li>
Acts as first point of contact with news media and coordinates Library&rsquo;s work with the media. Develops relationships with local and national media to promote Library services.</li><li>
Develops marketing strategies, action plans and programs for system-wide public information, promotion, and publications.</li><li>
Assumes overall responsibility for marketing all Library programs and services, internally and externally.</li><li>
Ensures promotion of Library programs and exhibits through onsite signage and external marketing.</li><li>
Supervises a project manager, digital content specialist, graphic design and writing teams.</li><li>
Undertakes special projects as assigned and works closely with the Project Managers from various departments.</li><li>
Plan and coordinate design of publications and marketing materials, produced by internal staff and external contracted services, to ensure appropriate promotion and awareness of Library products and services, including graphic design and signage.</li><li>
Design and direct public relations efforts to achieve marketing goals in terms of image and communication to the Library&rsquo;s various public audiences with significant emphasis placed on media and internal relations.</li><li>
Contributes to the Library website&rsquo;s design, development, and updates, working closely with the Digital Branch Manager, sharing feedback to improve website.</li><li>
Build a sense of teamwork and cooperation within the Marketing and Web Design teams and other library staff.</li><li>
Keeps abreast of current trends and developments in profession.</li></ul>
Requirements:

Demonstrated ability to interact successfully with staff and public in a large public service organization.</li><li>
Demonstrated team management skills, including the ability to organize work effectively, lead and direct personnel, and plan and execute programs and activities.</li><li>

Considerable knowledge of media communication techniques and publications.</li><li>
Demonstrated experience with the design and execution of targeted cultural, academic or community programming initiatives for various audiences and groups.</li><li>
Superior writing and public speaking ability.</li><li>
Proven skills in goal identification and achievement; strategic planning and organization of multiple projects.</li><li>
Advanced computer skills related to the position, including but not limited to mastery of Microsoft Office Suite.</li><li>
Ability to speak and understand English is required. Additional consideration will be given to individuals that are proficient in any non-English languages used in Jackson County, MO including Spanish, American Sign Language, Vietnamese, French, Arabic, and Swahili.
</li></ul>Required Education and Experience<ul><li>
Bachelor's degree marketing, communications, business administration or another field with over 6 years of progressively responsible related experience.</li><li>
Over 5 years experience supervising a marketing team.</li><li>
Other equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.</li></ul>
Work Environment
Work is performed at the Library&rsquo;s Administrative Annex and Library Branches throughout the district. Primary workspace is shared with co-workers in an office environment, other work will be performed in a public space amongst staff and patrons from a diverse socio-economic community.
