<div><p>Under general supervision, the <b>Engineering Inspector</b> manages, oversees, and inspects Public Works projects involving water, sanitary sewers, draining, streets, and sidewalks.</p></div>

Checks projects sites for safety hazards; reports construction problems and makes recommendations for solutions.</li><li>
Evaluates the quality construction materials; verifies the correct quantities of all required materials are onsite for each project.</li><li>
Oversees and participates in site and materials tests to include pressure, bacteriological, and vacuum testing.</li><li>
Prepares and maintains project documentation including correspondence, daily reports, materials testing results, record drawings, submittals, change orders, and payment requests.</li><li>
Records daily job progress; maintains communication with all parties involved with projects.</li><li>
Performs final walk-throughs at project sites; takes photographs and documents items that do not meet specifications and plans.</li><li>

<div><p>Work is performed in a standard office environment and in the field at various projects sites. While in the field, may be exposed to inclement weather conditions, traffic hazards, and potentially dangerous tools, equipment, and machinery. May be required to climb ladders and traverse uneven surfaces.</p></div>

<li>Communicates with the public in the office by telephone concerning zoning or property<br>
maintenance matters; receives and processes various applications for adherence to<br>
zoning codes.</li>
<li>Maintains records and files regarding inspections and violations.</li>
<li>May assist in other planning functions by reviewing addition and accessory permit<br>
applications for adherence to zoning codes or related functions.</li>
<li>Provides effective and efficient customer services and promotes and maintains<br>
