<div>This position provides communication support to Delaware Animal Services, the law enforcement unit of the Office of Animal Welfare. Dispatcher will receive, prioritize and disseminate animal-related calls from the public to animal welfare officers in the field for investigation; provide customer service and education to callers where appropriate. Enters all calls into computer aided dispatch system. Also monitors officers' safety via radio.

Provides information to callers regarding section policies, procedures, operations, and applicable laws and regulations.<br>
</li><li>
Inputs information/data from callers regarding complaints, incidents and requests for information and from officers' crime reports into databases for tracking and reporting purposes; reviewing documents for completeness/accuracy, obtaining necessary/correct information.<br>

Conducts background checks and (FOIA) Freedom of Information Act searches.

</li><li>Generates reports for supervisors, manager and others; formats and types other materials such as memorandums and correspondence.</li></ul>
