SUMMARY</b></div><div>
The On-Air Co-Host is responsible for creating, producing, and communicating via broadcast and online distribution systems, spiritually encouraging, Christian based content and conversation, interacting with listeners, news, interviews, weather, traffic, devotionals, and other matters of interest. Represents the ministry to the community in multiple ways &ndash; in-person and on-location. Develops creative and compelling content that helps AGC achieve its mission and vision.</div><div></div><div><b><br>
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:</b></div><ul><li>
Maintains an engaging, conversational on-air presence at all times.</li><li>
Plays music, spots, and various elements on the air from numerous pieces of equipment and software delivering compelling, interactive, spiritually uplifting, and entertaining live content in real-time over the air from our broadcast studios and at times on location.</li><li>
In the absence of the lead host, the co-host must be capable of assuming all on-air responsibilities; either solo, or with a temporary co-host.</li><li>
Substitutes for other on-air hosta at other times of the day when requested.</li><li>
Produces, writes, records, and edits (using multitrack digital editor) short feature programs, spots, bits, and elements for broadcast.</li><li>
Engages listeners through story-telling, and focused calls to action, in giving during multiple on-air fundraising events each year</li><li>
Thinks on their feet and responds to live developments.</li><li>
Preshow prep: research topics, scripts, trending news, community pulse</li><li>
Conducts interviews in the studio, via phone, and Internet for live and pre-recorded broadcasts. Prepares and edits interviews for on-air use and online distribution such as podcasts and our website and apps</li><li>
Determines news, weather, and traffic information appropriate for our broadcast and audience. Writes and edits news copy. Prepares and delivers this informational content live in an engaging way.</li><li>
Prepares, writes, and reviews public service announcements, underwriting announcements, pre-recorded reports, and audio elements.</li><li>
Collaborates with co-host, producer, assistant and program director to create timely program content.</li><li>
Engages in the talent and voice coaching process.</li><li>
Attends and guides daily production meetings &ndash; listening to and analyzing the days delivered content and prepares for the following day.</li><li>
Operates numerous pieces of office, radio broadcast, remote broadcast, and audio editing software and equipment.</li><li>
Answers phone calls, records, edits, and determines what should and shouldn&rsquo;t be aired.</li><li>
Represents station at a broad variety of industry and community functions and events.</li></ul><div><ul><li>
Hosts and presents upfront at various community functions and events, including schools, churches, and community organizations.</li><li>
Hosts and presents as requested during online only presentations whether YouTube, social media, or something else.</li><li>
Works as talent in front of the camera writing and recording features such as devotionals, promotional content, interviews, games with guests, short form and long form.</li><li>
Develops creative contests and issues prizes to winners in accordance with FCC regulations and AGC procedures.</li><li>
Develops, produces, and distributes written, video, audio, and graphical content daily via a variety of social media platforms and websites.</li><li>
Adjusts content at the direction of Program Director, research and feedback.</li><li>
Considers the target audience in all content decisions and delivery.</li><li>
Invests time in getting to know the target audience and spends time with them at station events, by giving station tours, by talking with them in the online (incoming and outgoing).</li><li>
Communicates via email, phone, and in person with financial donors, and people of influence.</li><li>
Participates in designing and executing ways of growing our listener contact list.</li><li>
Ensures that the WGTS 91.9 transmitter is operating within FCC-determined parameters, adjusting transmitter power when necessary or shutting down the system completely if conditions require it.</li><li>
Runs broadcasting tests as requested by the chief engineer.</li><li>
Ensures FCC compliance (e.g. IDs, profanity).</li><li>
Supports the engineering team as needed when troubleshooting studio equipment issues.</li><li>
Reports dead air or system problems immediately.</li><li>
Develops a general understanding of the central equipment rack as requested by the chief engineer.</li><li>
Monitors the on-air broadcast and the online Netcast at the beginning of each shift for delivery stability.</li><li>
Monitors for EAS alerts; record and air as directed.</li><li>
Serves as spokesperson for WGTS 91.9 at partner meetings and events as requested.</li><li>
Assists in other media activities as requested.</li><li>
Attends and presents at various fundraising events, including networking with donors.</li><li>
Participates in departmental and organization meetings as requested.</li><li>
Maintains a broader media and a specific CCM industry awareness.</li><li>
Develops and pitches creative ideas to the Program Director for improving the broadcast, and expanding the reach.</li><li>

The ideal person understands that A/B testing to gather data is just as important as finding the right stories to tell, and may even have a history of executing similar audience-focused products that successfully drove revenue. They also know that a successful newsletter is more than great content&mdash;although that matters a lot too. It includes thinking about audience growth, developing a growth strategy to expand reach, and using audience insights to drive long-term engagement.</p><p></p><p><br>
In addition to managing and evolving our flagship newsletter, the Newsletter Editor will also be asked to pitch, pilot, and launch a new niche product / series; publish originally reported, wire, and Creative Commons articles to the newsroom&rsquo;s website; and update the homepage regularly.</p><p></p><p><br>
We&rsquo;re a fully remote team, but applicants must live in Utah. This person will be a member of the Newsletter Department.</p><p></p><p><b><br>
Duties include but are not limited to</b><b>:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Write original stories and curate web stories to help build our flagship newsletter, ensuring it&rsquo;s engaging, informative, and aligned with audience needs</li>
<li>Own newsletter growth and retention, experimenting with different marketing strategies to expand our subscriber base.</li>
<li>Analyze audience data (open rates, click-through rates, subscriber trends) and implement A/B testing, audience segmentation, and other optimizations to improve performance.</li>
<li>Pitch, pilot, and launch new social content / series in an effort to reach new audiences</li>
<li>Lead initiatives aimed at better understanding our audience, such as polls and surveys, and utilizing those learnings to inform content strategy</li>
<li>Develop distribution strategies to ensure the newsletter(s) reaches new audiences, including cross-promotions, partnerships, and organic growth tactics.</li>
<li>Edit and publish wire, freelance, and content partnership content</li>
<li>Film and edit presenter-led videos and/or voice-overs for multimedia content that publishes on the newsroom&rsquo;s social platforms in order to market the newsletter</li>
<li>Create simple graphics, such as headline and quote cards, in Canva</li></ul><br>

<p><b>
The ideal candidate will have:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>A passion for building long-term engagement with a target audience by way of a news or cultural product.</li>
<li>Experience in newsletter writing, editing, or production, ideally in a newsroom, media organization, or audience-driven content role.</li>
<li>Strong writing and editing skills, with at least 3+ years of audience-centered reporting in Utah</li>
<li>Willingness to be on camera</li>
<li>Familiarity with using email analytics and performance metrics, including the ability to analyze open rates and click-through rates, to optimize content accordingly</li>
<li>Experience using an email service provider such as Mailchimp, Substack, Sailthru, Campaign Monitor, or similar tools</li>
<li>An eagerness to collaborate with other Newsletter Editors within our network to share best practices and learnings</li>
<li>The ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary stakeholders across the company, including members of the social, marketing, and revenue teams</li>
<li>Familiarity with tools like Canva, Capcut, Descript, etc., to support social content production</li>
<li>A strong grasp on AP style.</li>
<li>The ability to manage multiple editorial projects in a fast-paced environment.</li></ul><br>
