Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 
<ul><li>Prepares patients for examination. Sets up, adjusts, manipulates and controls the use of all monitoring, scanning, data processing and ancillary equipment required for Diagnostic Radiology Procedures.</li><li>Calculates and selects proper technical factors such as kilovolts, current, exposure time, focal distance and focal spot size based on the suspected pathology, age, and body thickness of the patient.</li><li>Uses only the combinations that will safeguard the patient, x-ray tube and equipment.</li><li>Selects compatible film, cassettes and accessories for each examination. Selects and loads the proper film cassettes and manually activates the proper switches to regulate exposure.</li><li>Maintains records and/or technical notations on each case as required by regulatory agencies and insures files and records are properly completed with correct information as required.</li><li>Assists physicians in performance of examinations by preparing contrast media, holding and turning patients, and assisting with sterile procedures.</li><li>Administers first aid when required and assists in cases of adverse reaction to contrast media or other emergencies.</li><li>Performs a variety of related clerical tasks, such as retrieving radiographic film records, filing films, answering phones, relaying messages, registering and scheduling patients and processes films as necessary.</li><li>Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of work area and insures that the area is properly stocked and supplied for diagnostic procedures.</li><li>Insures sterile package supplies and contrast material is not damaged or out-dated.</li><li>Assists in scheduling and flow of diagnostic radiology examinations to insure optimal utilization of equipment and personnel.</li><li>Demonstrates and assists in instruction of radiologic technology to other Radiology Technologists and non-professional/ancillary personnel.</li><li>Directly supervises job activities of student Radiologic Technologists.</li></ul></div>

Job Summary and Qualifications</h5>
Minimum Education, Experience, Training, Required Knowledge, Skill, Abilities and Other Job-Related Characteristics:
1. Education: Graduate of a Nuclear Medicine training program
2. Experience: 2 years experience as nuclear medicine technologist in a hospital setting
3. Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line, facility and department/unit which are specific to the needs of the patient population served (if applicable).
Minimum License, Certificates, or Registrations Required:
1. One of the following:
 i. ARRT (R) or ii. ARRT (N) or iii. ARRT (T) or iv. NMTCB
2. Medical Radiologic Technologist Certification from Texas Department of Health 
What you will do in this Role:
1. Supervises assigned personnel within and responsible for the effective planning and operation of the section(s). Evaluates performance of employees and takes appropriate personnel action when necessary. Motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance by providing clear direction and expectations. 
2. Leads both formal and informal meetings, which maximize the group&rsquo;s success. Fosters an atmosphere that encourages the open expression of ideas and opinions; asks key questions and offers information to move the process along; links the comments of others and builds on their ideas; and observes and comments on group dynamics. Creates an effective work team and sustains the team&rsquo;s performance during chaotic and stressful work phases.
3. Maintains inventory and equipment service records. Works with vendors to ensure optimum uptime of equipment in his/her section(s). Schedules preventive maintenance and emergency maintenance without disrupting patient care.
4. Views work situations from a broad context and understand the complementary interdependent nature of work process. Assesses the impact and implications of decisions on other components of the organization and determines the effects of one&rsquo;s individual work within this broad context. Communicates with other managers and directors any decisions, which may impact other sections of the organization.
5. Gathers and analyzes necessary data to identify relevant issues and accurately defines the problem, then formulates and evaluates alternatives prior to acting on a solution. Makes good decisions based on logical assumptions that reflect available factual information.
6. Uses resources effectively and efficiently to maintain a productivity standard as set forth by the Department Director in cooperation with administration.

1. May have access to radiopharmaceuticals, contrast agents and other non-controlled medications as appropriate to diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

4.
