SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Performs general police duties, processes and operations for the protection of life and property and enforces federal, state and local laws, prevents crime and preserves peace in a railroad surface transportation environment.

Annual: Entry rate (requires police academy) - $67,721, 1 full year of prior service at probationary rate - $75,245, 5 year lateral (First year at 95%) and with less than 1 year of break in service from previous Department - $88,436, Top step (100%) - $111,165.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:<ul><li>
Responsible for the safety and protection of all persons, including passengers, employees and property.</li><li>
Performs patrol duties on foot and in a police vehicle for prolonged periods of time.</li><li>

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

At the RTAA, the Airport Police team is a key member of the Operations &amp; Public Safety Department. Airport Police Officers are primarily responsible for performing general law enforcement duties and other emergency response to help provide the public with a safe experience while traveling through the Reno-Tahoe International Airport. The nature of the work requires the ability to act without immediate supervision and exercise independent judgment in emergency situations, and to have strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with a diverse population.

Selection Procedure:
