The Treasure Island Residential Step Down (RSD) services are available to beneficiaries who are stepping down from inpatient/residential substance use disorder treatment. Clients must be concurrently in treatment, specifically in outpatient (OP), intensive outpatient (IOP), Opioid Treatment Program (OTP), or Outpatient (aka Ambulatory) Withdrawal Management (OP-WM) settings. RSD provides a temporary, drug and alcohol-free environment to residents that are actively engaged in outpatient treatment for medically necessary SUD provided to the client off-site.

The Recovery Coach is responsible for assessing client needs and strengths in support of health and recovery. Through individual coaching with program-specific requirements and case management, Recovery Coaches assists clients in navigating systems of care while providing a supportive recovery environment. Recovery Coaches are responsible for maintaining and assessing the safety and security of the program and its residents through continued house runs while providing a supportive environment. Through effective communication, Recovery Coaches relay relevant information to other members of the interdisciplinary team and perform crisis intervention as needed. Recovery Coaches ensure that the facility environment is safe and welcoming.
<br>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
<br>Client Services

<li>Welcomes and assists clients with navigating throughout the building.</li>
<li>Provides excellent customer service and addresses any immediate needs of patients.</li>
<li>Assists patients with the required paperwork as needed for proper enrollment in services.</li>
<li>Coordinates transportation for patients in residential programs.</li>

<b>Individual Responsibilities:</b><br>

<li>Provide direct services such as intakes, assessment, crisis intervention, and case management as needed.</li>
<li>Responsible for retention and completion of clients, facilitate individual coaching sessions with each caseload client.</li>
<li>Provide learning experience opportunities and offers support to assist clients in meeting their long-term recovery goals.</li>
<li>Proactively link clients to both internal and external resources based on their recovery needs and follows up on the progress/status.</li>
<li>Perform house runs to ensure and maintain accountability of all clients and the safety and security of the facility.</li>
<li>Perform crisis intervention and communicate with treatment team as unforeseen situations arise.</li>
<li>Document client updates and incidents in the facility log daily, perform CPR and First Aid including administering Narcan as needed, and work weekends and holidays as needed.</li>

<b>Treatment Setting Responsibilities:</b><br>

<li>Facilitate community meetings and ensure compliance with facility rules.</li>
<li>Perform crisis intervention and communicate with team as unforeseen situations arise.</li>
<li>Document all client updates and facility incidents daily in the facility log.</li>
<li>Perform periodic house runs to ensure and maintain the safety and security of the facility.</li>
<li>When assigned at the Health and Wellness office, the Recovery Coach will document and accurately distribute client money, ensure client medications are securely stored and properly accounted for and holds facility keys and floater cellular phones.</li>
<li>As needed, accompanying clients to offsite appointments related to their recovery.</li>
<li>Attending all required training and meetings as assigned by facility manager.</li>
<li>Plan and facilitate client celebrations and special events.</li>
<li>Recovery Coach must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed.</li>
</ul>
<b>Documentation Responsibilities:</b><br>
<ul>
<li>Collaborate with each client and other available internal and external resources to develop transition plans, progress notes and appropriate updates in support of the health and recovery needs of the client.</li>
<li>Properly document all individual encounters and complete the discharge paperwork/process and required agency assessments in timely manner.</li>
<li>Maintains accurate records by data entering documentation into various electronic systems for all clients in accordance with guidelines established by HealthRIGHT 360 to satisfy internal and external evaluating requirements.</li>
<li>Completes accountability report on a weekly basis and collaborates with treatment providers to assist clients achieve program completion.</li>
</ul>
Safety Responsibilities

<br>QUALIFICATIONS
<br>Education, Certification, and Experience

<li>First Aid and CPR certification.</li>
<li>A valid California driver’s license and automobile insurance.</li>
<li>Experience working successfully with issues of substance abuse, mental health, criminal background, and other potential barriers to economic self-sufficiency.</li>
<li>A Drug and Alcohol Registration/Certification recognized by DHCS, is preferred.</li>
