 Position Summary
 
 
 
 Create recreational activity agendas and advertisements using publishing software. Conduct inventory of supplies, materials, and equipment and inform manager of low supply items. Encourage, recruit, register, and schedule guests to participate in recreation activities. Promote a fun and relaxing atmosphere for guests. Provide information to guests about available recreation facilities and activities. Promote the rules and regulations of the recreation facility intended for the safety and welfare of guests and members. Observe activity in the recreational facility and respond appropriately in accordance with local operating procedure in the event of an emergency. Be aware of possible situations where guests are not able to safely participate in an activity and inform supervisor/manager. Provide assistance to injured guests until the arrival of emergency medical services. Clean and maintain recreational equipment and supplies.
 
 
 Assist management in training, motivating, and coaching employees; serve as a role model. Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications. Follow company policies and procedures; ensure uniform and personal appearance is clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets. Anticipate and address guests&rsquo; service needs; assist individuals with disabilities. Speak with others using clear and professional language; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others. Process orders or transactions from customers and collect payment as necessary. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards; identify, recommend, and implement new ways to increase organizational quality. Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (e.g., small print). Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e.g., to identify defects). Enter and locate work-related information using computers and/or point of sale systems. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance and objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds with assistance. Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces. Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces as well as up and down stairs and/or service ramps. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.

Responsibilities - What you&rsquo;ll do
<ul><li>Plans/organizes/directs a large and comprehensive recreation program including a variety of sports and indoor/outdoor recreational activities designed to contribute to the physical well-being and total rehabilitation of the offenders; Consults with recreation and custody personnel in developing and implementing a wide variety of recreation activities; coordinates the recreation program with the work and activities of all other facility departments; schedules/secures approval for activities, music groups, etc.
</li><li>Supervises/evaluates/directs recreation and other staff assigned to the recreation program; provides in-service training for facility employees who may assist in recreation activities but are not formally assigned to the recreation department</li>
<li>Works with community groups/the general public/ facility superintendent/other staff members in the formulation and implementation of special and regular recreation and entertainment activities</li>

One or more years of experience as a Recreation Officer II with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System OR
Seven or more years of experience, excluding volunteer experience, in the field of group recreation or physical education which included responsibility for organizing, implementing, scheduling, and/or overseeing recreation activities, including one or more years with responsibility for budgeting, purchasing, and supervision of staff
(Earned credit hours from an accredited college or university, with credit hours in recreation, physical education, leisure studies, or closely related field, may be substituted for up to four years of the required experience, at a rate of 30 credit hours for one year &ndash; a minimum of three years of experience, including one year of budgeting, purchasing, and supervisory experience is required)

 Responsibilities
 
 
 
 As a Beach Guru, you are responsible for ensuring that all Beach &amp; Recreational area activities are completed in a timely and effective way, and your position will include key responsibilities such as:

 Follow all guidelines of the Recreation Department operational Sop&rsquo;s and task lists as provided
 </li>

 Organize, clean and maintain the entire Recreation Area and back offices,
 </li>
 <li>
 Carry out daily cleaning of the facility, plus weekly and monthly tasks as assigned by the Recreation Supervisor or Ass. Recreation Manager.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure that equipment is properly cleaned, stored and is secure when not in use.
 </li>
 <li>
 Take towels to and from the laundry ensuring an adequate operational stock is maintained at all times.
 </li>
 <li>
 Carry out other duties as required by management from time to time, such as but not limited to lateral service in other parts of the Hotel and overnight cleaning
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure excellent customer service and standards at all times as well as behaving in a professional manner when on and off duty
 </li>
 <li>
 Maintain complete knowledge and comply with all the companies and department, policies and procedures
 </li>
 <li>
 Set up workstation(s) with necessary supplies along with maintaining cleanliness throughout the shift.
 </li>

 Focus attention on guests needs while remaining calm and courteous, and accommodate to all guest requests expediently and courteously

 Full understanding of the Recreation&rsquo;s activities and events Services

 Provide amenities services to Clubs and Hotels guests, as outlined in SOP or as directed by supervisor
