Summary: 
The Rehab Technician provides excellent customer service by assisting in the Rehab &amp; Performance Department at Orthopaedics East &amp; Sports Medicine Center (OrthoEast). Primary responsibilities include patient intake, assessing patient tolerance to treatments, instructing patients on exercises prescribed by physical and occupational therapists, fitting and applying orthopedic equipment, educating patients and staff on use of the DME, and maintaining patient records. 
This position requires compliance with OrthoEast's compliance standards, including its Code of Conduct, Compliance Program, and policies and procedures. Such compliance will be an element required as part of the job duties and considered during performance evaluations. 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Obtain patients' personal information and updating medical histories; maintaining and updating patient records</li><li>Assist patients to reach examination and treatment rooms</li><li>Observe patient tolerance to treatments under the direct supervision of licensed physical therapists</li><li>Support physical therapists with complicated treatments, as well as assisting patients with physical activities</li><li>Manage patient mobility within the facility</li><li>Sterilize therapeutic equipment and ensuring that facilities are kept clean and tidy.</li><li>Safely dispose of hazardous waste and soiled materials.</li><li>Keep records accurate by updating inventory system, fill out appropriate documentation, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure stock is kept at an appropriate level.</li><li>Fulfill orders with high degree of accuracy</li><li>Set settings on devices when required by the order</li><li>Update system when returns are received</li><li>Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance.</li><li>Work Cross-functionally with colleagues to ensure patient needs are placed above all others, to obtain medical devices, accessories and necessities in a timely manner.</li></ul>
Education and/or Experience:
<ul><li>1 or more years of experience in therapeutic techniques preferred.</li><li>1 or more years of experience in orthopedic DME preferred.</li><li>Strong analytical skills with demonstrated experience in patient care</li><li>Strong attention to detail with documentation and follow-up</li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills</li></ul>

Job Summary
A rehabilitation technician is under the general technician supervisor and management team at the site of employment. The main objectives of this position is to support the staff with a team-oriented approach in delivering exceptional customer service and care with the goal of improving a patient&rsquo;s overall quality of life.
Essential Duties<ul><li>
Provide excellent customer service and communication to therapy patients, therapists, physician staff, and clients in a fast paced orthopedic rehab office.</li><li>
Daily clinic maintenance: including but not limited to cleaning treatment tables and equipment, change out linen, stocking supplies.</li><li>
Keep exercise equipment in an orderly fashion and out of the way of patients to maintain safe conditions in the clinic.</li><li>
Daily, weekly and monthly checks of maintenance tasks to stay compliant with IBJI guidelines. 5. Act as an extender to the therapists; assist clinicians with carrying out exercise programs for patients including set up on equipment and modalities.</li><li>
Communicate with therapist on any observations made during the patient's exercise program. 7. Take initiative in assisting clinicians with patient care.</li><li>
Print home exercise program for patients under the direction of the clinician.</li><li>
Inventory of both clinical and non-clinical materials.</li><li>
For clinics that utilize techs for front desk support, follow best practice procedures that involve clerical duties: including but not limited to checking in patients, scheduling appointments, taking co-pays, scanning, answering the phone.</li><li>
Provide daily support to the rehab staff and management team.</li><li>
Follows HIPAA guidelines by protecting the patient's identity.</li><li>
Ability to work with patients regardless of diagnosis, age, or background.</li><li>
Maintain a positive attitude in clinic.</li><li>
Demonstrates professionalism with prompt work attendance and flexibility with established work hours.</li><li>

Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills and relevant experience.
