<div><p>The Income Maintenance Caseworker I is responsible for receiving FNS reviews, checking them for accuracy, sending DSS-8650 for needed information, and assisting in conducting the interview. In addition, the Income Maintenance Caseworker I will screen mail-in applications for emergency processing and assist with conducting the interview on some FNS applications as well as processing auto-newborn and presumptive Medicaid applications. The position requires the caseworker to take phone calls from FNS and Medicaid recipients and notify the on-going caseworker of changes reported by the recipient. They will update addresses, phone numbers, and record changed information in the NC FAST system. They must monitor and maintain continuous compliance with all the program requirements. They will open, attach, and task mail to the appropriate worker in the FNS and Medicaid units. The Income Maintenance Caseworker I will scan and attach mail into NC FAST, monitor the general agency e-mails and forward correspondence to the appropriate worker(s), monitor text communications and distribute it to the appropriate worker(s) as well as send out mass text messages as directed, and send and receive e-faxes and ensure the correspondence is sent to the appropriate worker(s). The Income Maintenance Caseworker I will resolve some agency reports such as FRR&rsquo;s for the IM Division. The Income Maintenance Caseworker I will handle completing Non-Emergency Medicaid Transportation (NEMT) verifications and completing the no-show lists weekly to determine who has good cause and who does not and applying the NEMT suspension policy. They will take and process Energy Program applications. This consists of interviewing clients and collecting and verifying relevant eligibility requirements. Utilize NC FAST to gather and input information into the web database. Determine eligibility requirements based on the status of the heating/cooling systems of the home and the health status of the household members. Work with other community partners to provide referrals to the client when deemed necessary. Process Energy Program applications from a variety of sources including in-person, telephone, mail, ePASS, email and/or fax.</p></div>

The Economic Services Section at the Vance County Department of Social Services is organized into units with Income Maintenance Caseworkers who report to a supervisor for their respective unit. These include: (1) Adult Medicaid Intake/ Medicaid Transportation, (2) Adult Medicaid Recertification &amp; Long Term Care, (3) Child Support; (4) Family &amp; Children&rsquo;s Medicaid; and (5) Food &amp; Nutrition Services (2 Units). These Units have the responsibility for administering their respective programs in accordance with Federal and State Laws, rules and policies. Functions include explaining policies, taking applications, making changes to eligibility based upon new information, completed required recertifications for continued eligibility, and assuring that case actions are taken in a timely and accurate manner. Income Maintenance Caseworkers may be assigned to applications and/or reviews in one of these Units, or may be assigned to complete applications or reviews in more than one program. Staff may be utilized in a different program and/or function based upon the needs of the agency. Training and monitoring are provided by the Unit Supervisor, Unit Lead Worker or Staff Development Worker.</p><p><br>
The Income Maintenance Lead Worker (IMC III) will spend a minimum of 25% of their time providing guidance, coaching, consultation and training as needed to Income Maintenance Caseworker II positions in the Unit and program to which assigned. This employee must be thoroughly familiar with all functional aspects required to properly process applications and recertifications for clients for the program. Must possess the knowledge to advise other staff members regarding program policies, procedures, rules and regulations. May require some review of cases and training of staff. This employee will work with their Unit</p><p>
Supervisor to provide feedback regarding their work as a Lead Worker. The employee will also handle applications and/or recertifications and process benefits for the respective Income Maintenance program. This will include applying policy in completion of casework. 3. Obtain required documentation and information necessary to determine initial or ongoing program eligibility.</p><p>

5. Key eligibility data or update information based on reported changes in the NC Fast System.</p><p>

This division provides comprehensive services to victims of domestic and sexual violence, homicide, and other violent crimes; and takes a leadership role in educating the community about the impact of violence.</p><p>
Victim Advocates work onsite or provide mobile advocacy to victims of crime in the community and/or on-scene with law enforcement. They assist victims of violent crime, including domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, homicide, vehicular crimes, secondary victimization, and may assist in incidents which involve an officer-involved shooting and/or an in-custody death. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</b></h2>

<div></div><div><ul><li>Two years of experience in casework management, counseling, working with crime victims, or related activities.</li><li>
Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field.</li><li>
Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.</li><li>
All finalists for positions are subject to a criminal background check applicable to the department or position.</li><li>
This position requires the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage.</li>
