Job Title: Content Teacher - History/Social Studies

Position Summary:
The Content Teacher is responsible for overseeing subject-specific online courses. The Content Teacher hosts weekly live sessions that engage students to achieve content mastery. The Content Teacher reviews and sets up their course according to guidelines provided, and their knowledge of content/grade level standards. The Content Teacher ensures that there is adequate rigor and makes modifications to curriculum as needed, provides students with timely feedback on submitted work, reviews completed coursework, and makes final grade determination. As needed, the Content Teacher creates personalized pacing guides including due dates and assignments for the course for the parent and Teacher of Record to utilize. In addition, the Content Teacher will ensure academic success of the students in their courses through consistent and clear communication, Live Sessions for student participation. The Content Teacher holds office hours for small groups and/or 1-1 tutoring opportunities for Elite students. The Content Teacher responds to students within 24 hours of receipt of message, and communicates to Elite Educator any concerns regarding the successful completion of a course. The Content Teacher will also sit in on parent/student meetings with the Teacher of Record and/or Administrator to devise a success plan for the student, give specific information to the SPED department or Student Support Team as applicable.
This position contributes to Elite Academic Academy&rsquo;s instructional program and supports student academic success through instruction, curriculum development, student support, and/or educational program implementation. This role performs creditable service as defined by CalSTRS and aligns with the organization&rsquo;s mission to provide innovative, student-centered learning experiences.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Content Teacher:<ul><li>
Initial setup and preparation of their courses, including due dates, syllabus, grading scale, and content review.</li><li>
Develop and deliver weekly live sessions that help students develop content mastery, and take attendance at live sessions for compliance purposes.</li><li>
Provide students with syllabus, pacing guide with due dates for assignments, and assessments.</li><li>
Provide students with standards.</li><li>
Issue midterm progress report.</li><li>
Offer office hours and tutoring opportunities for students.
</li><li>Review completed coursework and make final grade determination.</li><li>
Update course as necessary.</li><li>
Attend a minimum of 4 field trips (2 in person, and 2 virtual) per semester, during the school year (not including mandatory Professional Development events).</li></ul>
Personalized Courses:<ul><li>
Provide parents/students with standards, syllabus, and contact information.</li><li>
Review the course outline and ensure the standards are covered and that there is adequate rigor.</li><li>
Provide students and parents with feedback as necessary.</li><li>
Create a pacing guide for the year for the parent and student to utilize. This pacing guide will include due dates for assignments.
</li><li>Content Teacher works with academic supervisors for final approval on personalized courses.</li><li>
Review completed coursework and make final grade determination.</li></ul>
Education:<ul><li>
Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree</li><li>

Experience:
Two (2) years directly related experience.
Use of Computer Technology:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have general knowledge of database software, how to use the internet to find information and complete tasks, email usage, order processing systems, spreadsheet software, Learning Management Systems, and word processing software. The Content Teacher is expected to maintain a school issued working computer with an internet connection and a printer.

Position Summary 


Accepting applications for the 2026-2027 school year. Working from their home or from our Durham office, North Carolina licensed and certified teachers will support and motivate students through high-quality virtual instruction using Pearson Online Classroom. Through the use of the telephone, internet, and various curriculum and communication tools they will consult frequently with learning coaches and students to ensure that each child successfully completes their instructional program. 


The Business Teacher will be responsible for the successful completion of the following tasks:

<li> Complete all grading, lesson preparation, student and learning coach communications within specified and required timeframes;</li>

Compensation &amp; Benefits<ul><li>
The expected starting pay range is $24.95 - $35.07 per hour. Teachers at MiaPrep Online High School work an average of 40 hours per week. When working year-round, this can equate to an annual pay range of $51,896 - $72,945.</li><li>
Miaplaza&rsquo;s compensation philosophy ensures equity and competitiveness while considering the regional differences in living and labor costs. Specific rates will be provided during the hiring process and are aligned with market data and internal equity.</li><li>
Compensation is evaluated twice per year, based on performance. MOHS Teachers&rsquo; compensation is first and foremost determined by performance and impact.</li><li>
