 The Department of Emergency Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for an intermittent Research Study Assistant (RSA). This is also for the Night Shift.
 
 
 
 The Research Study Assistant will coordinate and perform work in support of clinical and health services research at Harborview Medical Center and UWMC. Projects will cover a wide range of clinical pathways with a focus on out of hospital cardiac arrest, traumatic injuries, strokes, sepsis, and opioids. The research study assistant will work in a team environment that includes faculty, fellows, medical students, and other key stakeholders.

 Screen and appropriately enroll eligible subjects on various protocols.

 Assist with development and maintenance of research databases.

Research Study Assistant (Intermittent) (Night Shift)

<div>This position will work in a variety of settings including Seattle Children&rsquo;s Hospital and Urgent Cares as well as local community pediatric clinics to work closely with children and families in the community. The successful candidate will be comfortable explaining our research studies to potential participants. This position will work independently as well as alongside the Infectious Diseases research team.<div>
Responsibilities will include, but not limited to, the following:

 Research Technician I

 The Hill Lab uses preclinical model and clinical sample analyses to dissect the immunological mechanisms and pathways of transplant and cell therapy complications resulting in graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), cytokine release syndrome (CRS) and anti-tumor immunity. The ultimate aim is to generate testable therapeutic interventions that attenuate GVHD and CRS whilst preventing tumor escape after cell therapy, without compromise of pathogen-specific immunity.
 
 
 The incumbent will be responsible for performing standard and investigative laboratory work in support of scientific research by performing bench-level experiments, operating analytical instruments, recovering, compiling and verifying the accuracy of research data; performing calculations; preparing charts, graphs and summaries.
 
 
 The ideal candidate will be able to work as part of a team as well as independently to follow established protocols. The ideal candidate will have experience handling mice, and with molecular biology techniques. This is a temporary position to cover a leave, with the possibility of extension.

The Courier I is responsible for the pick-up, transportation and delivery of lab specimens, medical records, medications, and patient related documentation within the Fred Hutch clinic and campus.</div><div></div><div> 
The schedule for this position will be full-time, Monday-Friday from 10:30am-7pm.</div>
Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Deliver all specimens, medications, and patient-related materials, accurately and within an appropriate timeframe.</li><li>
Monitor courier phone and manage shifting priorities to maintain route schedule (if applicable).</li><li>
Maintain courier logs, ensure courier entries are legible, accurate and adhere to standard written procedures.</li><li>
Report and assist with tracking of missing or damaged specimens, medications, and patient related materials.</li><li>
Assist with training new couriers as needed.
</li><li>Fill in for other routes as needed or other Supply Chain.</li><li>
Assist with storeroom duties during downtime.</li><li>
Adhere to departmental procedures and Fred Hutch policies.</li></ul>
Qualifications:
<div>
Required:</div><ul><li>
A High School Degree, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li><li>
Pharmacy Assistant License (must be able to attain a Pharmacy Assistant License within 45 days of hire).</li><li>
Basic computer skills.</li><li>
Ability to communicate in person as well as in writing professionally and effectively</li><li>
Excellent multi-tasking and interpersonal skills.</li><li>
Knowledge of computerized or automated system operations and record keeping practices.</li><li>
Basic math skills and knowledge of units of measure.</li><li>
Ability to lift to 50 pounds using proper techniques.</li><li>
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>
Ability to consistently walk for the majority of an eight-hour shift and/on average of 10-12 miles per day.</li></ul><div>
Preferred:</div> 
<ul><li>
One year relevant experience preferred</li><li>
Knowledge and practice of safe blood borne pathogen handling techniques.</li><li>
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals and carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form.</li></ul><div>
The hourly pay range for this position is from $21.30 to $30.13 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
