  Responsibilities

   Assists in designing, developing, executing, and implementing biochemical and cell biological experiments related to a new research projects assessing the role of WT RAS activation in RAS-mutated cancers.
  </li>
  <li>
   Investigates the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and theories to potential inventions and products.
  </li>
  <li>
   Performs specialized laboratory research utilizing experimental protocols which will involve specialized procedures including: cell line generation using both viral vectors and CRISPR technology, cell culture, nucleic acid extraction/purification/transfection, growth factor stimulation, BRET, immunoprecipitation and Western blotting, molecular cloning and site-directed mutagenesis, immunofluorescence and confocal microscopy, animal genetics and husbandry, and other techniques as needed/required by the laboratory.

   Collects and handles samples and keeps detailed records of experiments.

   Processes and interprets experimental data, and prepares accurate and timely research reports.

   Assists with the preparation of data for presentations at scientific meetings and for publication in journals.

Individuals will be trained to deploy these approaches to diagnose and study brain diseases and gain exposure to challenges associated with treatment modalities, diagnosis, and research design. This role assists with the technical aspects of studies and experiments with potential opportunities to attend and present at conferences and contribute to publications. The individual will have opportunities to interface with both clinical staff and basic scientists, making the position ideal for someone who is interested in broad exposure to the challenges associated with diagnosing, treating, and studying degenerative brain diseases.</p><b><br>
Responsibilities</b><ul><li><div>
Assists with experiments including data collection and entry, maintaining data records, and analysis</div></li><li><div>
Performing cell culture techniques including primary fibroblast banking and maintenance of stem cell lines and organoid models in preparation for downstream experiments and screening assays</div></li><li><div>
Immunohistochemistry, immunocytochemistry, and microscopy for brain tissue and stem cell projects</div></li><li><div>
Performing general molecular biology and protein biochemistry techniques e.g., PCR, RT-PCR, isolation of genomic DNA and RNA from cells and brain tissue, western blotting</div></li><li><div>
Directly supports the initiatives of the Neuropathology Brain Bank and Research CoRE</div></li><li><div>
Reports directly to the supervising neuropathologist and works closely with staff scientists, postdoctoral fellows, project coordinators, trainees and technical staff to ensure the success of projects</div></li><li><div>
