Role Description</h2>
As a Senior Machine Learning Scientist, you will design, build, and deploy uplift models and causal inference systems that allocate promotional spend across Booking.com&rsquo;s accommodation marketplace. The role combines causal methodology, neural network architecture design, and production ML &mdash; with your work validated through large-scale A/B experiments. There are opportunities to publish applied research at top venues when the work contributes novel methodology.<h2 class="jobSectionHeader">

Jouw nieuwe werkomgeving?
 
De afdeling Duurzaamheid en Leefomgeving richt zich op onafhankelijk meestal technisch onderzoek naar de invloed van luchtvaart op de leefomgeving en naar de verduurzaming van de luchtvaart. Wij voeren onder meer systematisch onderzoek uit naar de geluidsbelasting rond luchthavens. Daarvoor ontwikkelen wij methoden en technieken om de impact op de leefomgeving in kaart te brengen op basis waarvan wij adviezen uitbrengen aan onze opdrachtgevers. De mede in internationaal verband opgebouwde kennis wordt direct toegepast op het dagelijks opereren van (inter)nationale luchthavens en in beleidsvraagstukken voor (inter)nationale overheden. Onze opdrachtgevers komen uit de luchtvaartsector en verschillende overheden, zoals ministeries, provincies en gemeenten.
 
In Team Geluid, onderdeel van de afdeling Duurzaamheid en Leefomgeving, werk je samen met 14 andere professionals.

 Your Core Responsibilities
 
 
 
 You will work together with traders, researchers, quants, and fellow engineers. You will take ownership of the end-to-end product development process for deliver high-impact projects -from requirements gathering to production deployment. Your goal is to deliver high-performance, reliable software using frequent iterations to get quick feedback and shorten our time-to-market. Key responsibilities include:

 Close collaboration with traders to gain a deep understanding of Trading strategies and implement them optimally;
 </li>
 <li>
 Building cutting edge solutions by developing, testing, deploying, tuning, and maintaining a variety of applications, algorithms, new research infrastructures, and automation for Trading Teams;
 </li>
 <li>
 Continuously improving functional and operational sides of Strategy systems to enhance user experience and overall system performance.
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Your Skills And Experience
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 At least 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer with excellent programming abilities;
 </li>
 <li>
 Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, complexity analysis, data structures, memory models, and concurrency models;
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong quantitative and analytical skills and a keen interest in applying them to the Trading field;
 </li>
 <li>
 Prior experience having worked in trading or related industries (HFT, MFT, exchanges, hedge funds etc)
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to work independently, analyze business requirements, communicate with stakeholders, take full ownership of the solutions you build and deliver;
 </li>
 <li>
 Highly adaptable and able to thrive in uncertain, rapidly evolving environments;
 </li>
 <li>
 Master&rsquo;s or PhD degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science or a related field;
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience with JVM-based languages (Java, Kotlin) or Python;
 </li>
 <li>
 Advanced math and quantitative skills are a plus;
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience with and interest in building information-rich user-facing applications, GUIs, UXs is a plus;
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience with large-scale data and research pipelines compute clusters is a plus
