</div><div><p>PANPREP &ndash; Dr. Cyrus Poonawalla Centre for Infectious Diseases and Pandemic Preparedness at IIPHH embodies the Institute&rsquo;s commitment to advancing infectious disease research. The Centre aims to serve as a hub for interdisciplinary collaboration, innovation, and translation of scientific knowledge into practical health solutions. It will bring together researchers, healthcare professionals, and young scientists to drive pioneering studies, adopt cutting-edge technologies, and strengthen India&rsquo;s capacity to prevent and manage infectious diseases of global concern. Study Design and Execution:</b></p>

<li>Design, plan, and conduct laboratory experiments, clinical studies, epidemiological investigations, and public health studies in infectious disease research.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate, well-organized records of all research data, protocols, and experimental procedures.</li>
<li>Ensure strict compliance with ethical regulations, laboratory biosafety standards and regulatory guidelines relevant to research studies.</li>

Manufacturing is a highly complex field involving materials, machines, and processes that interact in ways we often don't fully understand. This complexity poses a significant challenge when we attempt to optimize manufacturing processes, introduce new materials, or enhance efficiency. While artificial intelligence (AI) has shown great promise in helping us identify patterns, make predictions, and drive innovation in manufacturing, understanding how some AI models make their predictions or decisions is very difficult. This 'black box' problem is a significant challenge, especially when manufacturers need to trust AI tools to improve production, quality, and safety.</p><p>
The M-CAML (Michigan Cognitive and Adaptive Manufacturing Lab) team aims to develop methods and tools for interpreting and explaining how powerful AI models make predictions and decisions in manufacturing. By seeing what's going on inside the 'black box', we can also uncover new scientific or engineering insights about the underlying manufacturing processes. The ability to interpret and explain AI models is called 'explainable AI' (XAI) and is an exciting and rapidly expanding research area.</p><p>
We will conduct a comprehensive study of AI models and architectures as well as methods, demonstrated, or projected, that are used to interpret mathematically different classes of AI models, and which we believe can be used in manufacturing contexts. The outcome of this work will be a validated compilation of quantitative information that will serve to project opportunities as well as baseline data set for assessing these methods and models.</p><p>
The objective is to actualize M-CAML's research agenda that attracts partners and collaborators across sectors (industry, government, academia) and horizons (short, medium, long-term). The research in this role (up to three years) will focus on developing fit-for-purpose digital clinical measures for drug development. This offers a unique opportunity to conduct innovative research at the intersection of quantitative science, digital health, and clinical development.</p><p></p><p><b>
Key Responsibilities:</b></p><ul><li><p>
Develop and refine novel statistical and data science methodologies and algorithms to support digital clinical measure development.</p></li><li><p>
Design and implement validation frameworks for digital endpoints derived from sensor, wearable, and mobile health data.
</p></li><li><p>Analyze data from observational and interventional clinical studies utilizing sensor-based digital health technologies to identify and validate digital biomarkers relevant to Parkinson&rsquo;s disease.</p></li><li><p>
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and external partners, including clinical scientists, biostatisticians, technology specialists, and data scientists, to build digital measures that can be deployed in clinical trials to support drug development.</p></li><li><p>
Drive innovation and shape best practices in digital clinical measure development and validation by leading and contributing to high-impact scientific publications and conference presentations.</p></li><li><p>
Stay current with emerging trends in digital health, biostatistics, and regulatory guidance to effectively apply the latest standards for digital measures and endpoints.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><br>
Requirements</b></p><ul><li><p>
PhD in Statistics within 6 months of hire in Biostatistics, Data Science, Biomedical Engineering, or related quantitative discipline.</p></li><li><p>
Strong proficiency in statistical programming languages (e.g., R, Python) and visualization techniques.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>
Preferred Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li><p>
Experience working with clinical trial or observational study data, and/or real-world evidence studies.</p></li><li><p>
Prior experience analyzing data from digital health and sensor-based technologies.</p></li><li><p>
Prior experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare research settings.</p></li><li><p>
Experience with longitudinal data analysis, machine learning, and advanced statistical modeling techniques.</p></li><li><p>
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.</p></li><li><p>
Excellent communication, scientific writing, and presentation skills, with a demonstrated record of scientific publications and presentations.</p></li></ul><p></p><p>
