This individual will carry out research on the mechanisms of mechanisms of learning and memory or mechanisms of neuronal and metabolic dysfunction in Nf1. This position provides an opportunity to join a dynamic, supportive lab, working to answer questions about fundamental neural function in a powerful model system.</p>
<p>
Duties will include (but are not limited to) the following:
</p><ul><li> Carry out a variety of experiments with minimal oversight, seeking guidance when needed.
</li></ul><ul><li>Maintain animal stocks, carry out crosses to generate specific genetic lines/progeny, assist with animal room cleaning</li>
<li>Perform behavioral experiments, such as analysis of locomotor behaviors and grooming using Drosophila.</li>
</ul>
<ul><li> Perform experiments independently based on protocols developed by other research staff or principal investigator of the research project. Set up and operate research materials/equipment. Read and understand protocols. Arrange and plan daily activities to prepare and carry out experiments to meet overall research goals. Perform procedures assuring fidelity to protocols. Track progress of research, identify any failure points, troubleshoot, consult with others when necessary/helpful, and ensure continued progress of research to meet goals.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Adhere to safety and regulatory guidelines. Assist with ensuring that the working environment and records/documentation are compliant with applicable health and safety regulations. Collate documentation for protocol submissions (IBC, etc.) as requested.</li></ul>

 The Andzelm lab is focused on how both common and rare human genetic variation influences neuroinflammatory pathophysiology in collaborative work across Boston Children&rsquo;s Hospital and at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. We are recruiting a Research Assistant II to join ongoing exciting projects using iPSC-derived neural cells, next generation sequencing, and traditional wet lab work to examine genetic risk factors and mechanisms of neuroinflammation.

   Designing and performing a variety of laboratory assays and procedures that encompass molecular biology, iPSC culture and flow cytometry, among others. These will be carried out utilizing a range of laboratory equipment and will entail accurately documenting procedures undertaken, recording any data generated, and performing a variety of downstream data analysis using a variety of graphical and statistical computer packages.

<p>The Faja Lab is seeking a Clinical Research Assistant (CRA) who will work on a clinical trial that is collecting EEG, parent-report measures, and lab-based assessments from school-aged autistic children at Boston Children&rsquo;s Hospital.<br/></p><p>Along with the responsibilities below, the Clinical Research Assistant will also contribute to other clinical research projects focused on autism in the Faja Lab, which is part of the Laboratories of Cognitive Neuroscience (LCN). The LCN is dedicated to furthering our understanding of brain and cognitive development in children diagnosed with or at higher likelihood of various neurodevelopmental disorders. Our multidisciplinary team of researchers brings together experts from a wide range of fields, including neuroscience, psychology, and education in collaboration with clinical experts in fields such as developmental pediatrics and child neurology.
