   Conducts experimental tests for Investigators using existing techniques.

   Work may involve culture and/or cell separation methods; electrophoretic separations: assays (e.g., RIA, TIA, ELISA); basic biology or other specialized science techniques, depending on the lab.

The Laboratory Research Technician will facilitate and conduct research focused on examining the neurobiological processes that underlie addiction. The successful candidate will be performing standardized procedures that are used in behavioral pharmacological research, including the daily conduct of behavioral experiments in rats. The candidate must be capable of working independently, and also as part of a team.<br>

Another primary component of the Laboratory Research Technician position is to assist in conducting molecular analyses that will complement the behavioral studies. A third primary component of this position is to assist with maintaining the computer-generated data and to conduct standardized data analysis and graphing using computer software. The Laboratory Research Technician will be required to keep detailed and accurate records of experimental test procedures and results, and present results to the PI. The employee will also assist with maintaining budgets, ordering laboratory supplies and keeping accurate inventory. Excellent interpersonal communication skills are essential!</div>

We are currently searching for a Laboratory Technician to provide day-to-day operational and administrative support to teams supporting the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This role helps scientific research by conducting laboratory experiments, operating equipment, preparing specimens, and managing samples while ensuring accurate documentation of all procedures. The role also maintains laboratory readiness by controlling inventory and cleaning and sterilizing instruments, glassware, and equipment. This is a full-time, on-site position based on the NIH campus in Bethesda, MD or Baltimore, MD.</p><p>
What You Will Do:<br>
Plan, execute, and coordinate laboratory experiments in support of scientific research activities.</p><ul><li>Implement new laboratory techniques, methods, and procedures in accordance with established protocols.
</li><li>Perform routine and specialized laboratory techniques to support ongoing research studies.
</li></ul><p>&middot; Operate laboratory instruments, machinery, and equipment safely and effectively. &middot; Prepare specimens, reagents, samples, and equipment for experimental use.</p><ul><li>Manage, label, track, and store laboratory samples in compliance with storage and safety requirements.
</li><li>Analyze experimental procedures and results to ensure accuracy and data integrity. Document and report all laboratory procedures, observations, and findings in required records or systems.
</li><li>Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies, materials, and consumables to support uninterrupted operations.
</li><li>Clean, sterilize, and maintain laboratory instruments, glassware, and equipment. Ensure laboratory work areas are organized and maintained in accordance with safety and quality standards.
</li><li>Adhere to all applicable laboratory safety, compliance, and operational guidelines.</li></ul><br>
What You Will Need:<br>
<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in a Science field</li><li>Minimum of two (2) years working in a laboratory environment.
</li><li>Experience in performing biological research.</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams)</li></ul><p>
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD Public Trust. Candidates must receive approved adjudication of their Public Trust prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an active Public Trust or existing suitability are preferred.<br>

The annual salary range for this position is $56,000.00-$94,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.<p><br>
