<div>Position Summary:
 
The Rosamund Stone Zander and Hansjoerg Wyss Translational Neuroscience Center (TNC) is comprised of translational investigators and clinical experts focused on neurogenetic and neurodevelopmental disorders. The TNC has been selected to join a multi-site longitudinal natural history study aims to map the trajectory of autism and related neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs). This initiative aims to deeply phenotype these populations and identify future clinical trial outcome measures. The clinical research assistant will work closely with TNC research staff and physician researchers to execute this study. 
 
Under immediate supervision, the clinical research assistant will coordinate the daily operation activities of this initiative. They will be responsible for screening, consenting, recruiting, and selecting participants. They will prepare IRB documentation and IRB submissions in conjunction with the Principal Investigator and/or other members of the research team. They will conduct data collection activities, complete data entry, maintain regulatory binders, and support research activities as required. 
 
Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Consents and recruit participants through personal interviews and written communications with patients/families. Provides detailed background information regarding the study to families, communicates all policies and procedures, and responds to all inquiries. Evaluates suitability of prospective study candidates and makes selections based upon clinical knowledge of each study.</li><li>
Serves as liaison to the families/participants in the research studies, conducted at both on-site and off-site locations, guiding and advising them throughout each phase of the study. Coordinates follow-up visits as necessary. Acts as a resource to study participants, addressing any concerns they may have. Troubleshoots resolution of any issues that may arise throughout the study.</li><li>
Coordinates and prepares the necessary documentation for Institutional Review Board (IRB) and Committee on Clinical Investigations (CCI) submissions, together with the Principal Investigator of the study.</li><li>
Creates and prepares data collection statistical reports and analytical summaries for distribution to study research team for review and analysis.</li><li>
Participates in the training of newly hired research study assistants, as required.</li>
Coordinates activities between the hospital and research laboratories to ensure correct testing/processing and sends out instructions specific to the study. Communicates project policies and procedures to personnel. Monitors and reviews data collection, data entry, and informed consent procedures <li>- ensuring consistency of application for all participants.</li><li>
Performs other miscellaneous administrative duties as assigned or required.</li></ul> 

Minimum Qualifications 
Education:<ul><li>
The knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in STEM or psychology.</li></ul>
Experience:<ul><li>
Work requires the analytical skills to gather and interpret data in which the information or problems are moderately complex to complex.</li><li>
Work requires well-developed communication skills in order to provide critical information to patients, effectively deal with conflicting views or issues, and the ability to mediate fair solutions. Work also requires advanced writing skills.</li><li>
Fluency in English and Spanish preferred.</li><li>

 The Clinical Research Assistant performs a variety of research, data and clerical duties of a routine and technical nature to support the conduct of clinical research under the direction of a senior research team member. </li><li>Evaluates the record for documentation consistency and adequacy during provider coding audits. Ensures that the final diagnosis accurately reflects the care and treatment rendered. Reviews the records for compliance with established reimbursement and special screening criteria.</li><li>
Researches codes and guidelines as it pertains to various providers, Informatics, billing and other departments as requested, to give accurate information for the purposes of billing, reporting and auditing.
</li><li>Assist in auditing, reviewing and reporting to appropriate parties, any findings on various audits done within the oversight of the Compliance program.</li><li>
Assists with training for all departments involving ICD-10-CM and CPT CM including, but not limited to Evaluation and Management section, Centricity Practice Solution.
</li><li>Collects and records data accurately on training received by staff.</li><li>
Trains in various clinical areas (Suboxone, HIV, 340B drugs etc.) to be audited to fully understand the policies and procedures for each area in order to assess, audit and report findings to the Compliance officer.</li><li>
Maintains audit records for outside auditing purposes as well as further internal auditing purposes.
</li><li>Prepares for audits by researching materials, policies, procedures and formulating a plan of action. Setting up spreadsheets for data and recording as required.
</li><li>Communicate audit progress and findings by preparing reports and providing information in meetings when requested.
</li><li>Assists the Compliance/Coding/HIM lead in reporting, educating, creating and implementing any policy and procedure necessary to ensure that all departments follow regulations according to the Compliance program.
</li><li>Assist the Compliance Officer with onsite audits as needed.</li><li>
Enhances compliance department and the organizations reputation by accepting responsibility for accomplishing new and different coding and compliance related requests; exploring opportunities for additional audits/monitoring to ensure the most robust compliance program possible.
</li><li>Also assists with the coding and HIM department with patient complaints, records requests, incident reports, correcting claims as requested by the Coders, and other duties as assigned.

Source Document Completion which includes completing and uploading all necessary documents to CRIO and maintaining all charts properly.</li><li>
Concomitant Medication Assessment by obtaining information from patient or chart regarding name of medication, start and stop dates, dose, and indication.</li><li>
Responsible for Biological Sampling Collection/Packaging/Shipping this includes serum and/or tissue collection, processing, packaging and shipping per study specific requirements.</li><li>
Case Report Form (CRF) Entries and Management data entry, query resolution in paper and/or electronic CRFs.</li><li>
Investigational Product (IP) Management &ndash; includes receiving IP supplies, IP accountability, monitoring of temperature controls, destructions or return of IP.</li><li>
Develop and/or Maintain Essential Documents including study specific training documents, study specific logs, patient questionnaires, patient pill diaries, lab requisition forms, other study specific forms.</li><li>
Supply Chain Maintenance including supplies inventoried, stocking, organizing, and resupply order placed as required.</li><li>
Responsible for study coordination, rooming, administer questionnaires, scheduling scans, set up room for procedures and wipe and clean equipment after procedures and visits.</li><li>
