This entry-level research technical role participates in a planned research projects by performing research protocols, experimental procedures and other laboratory tasks under direct supervision. <div><p><b>Position Overview and Responsibilities</b><br>
The Xia Lab is seeking a motivated Summer Laboratory Technician. This position is ideal for a high school student interested in gaining hands-on experience in biomedical research.</p>
<p></p><p><b>Responsibilities</b></p>
<ul><li>Assist with routine laboratory experiments and data collection
</li><li>Perform basic lab techniques, including:
<ul><li>PCR and gel electrophoresis
</li><li>histology, immunostaining and microscopy
</li></ul></li><li>Assist with mouse colony maintenance and genotyping (if applicable)
</li><li>Organize laboratory reagents, supplies, and research records
</li><li>Participate in laboratory meetings and scientific discussions
</li></ul><p><b>Minimum Qualifications</b></p>
<ul><li>Strong interest in biomedical research
</li><li>Careful attention to detail and willingness to learn
</li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Work Hours</b><br>
Full-time summer position (generally 4-8 weeks). Hours are typically Monday through Friday from 8:30AM to 5:00PM.</p>
