In this role, you will primarily work with either the residents in our 18 memory care apartments or the 42 residents in our assisted living Facility. Our building is also home to 70 residents in our independent living plus.
 
What You’ll Do

 Immediately report all suspected cases of abuse or neglect to the Assisted Living Supervisor or Administrator. [3]
 Work safely, following the safety practices and standards of the organization including Blood Borne Pathogen Standards. Uses a gait belt and proper body mechanics when involved in lifting, pushing or pulling activities. [1]
 Changes bed linens, collects laundry and assists with housekeeping duties which may include vacuuming, dusting and sweeping/mopping. Empties garbage regularly. Assures areas are neat and safe. [1]
 Works with supervisor to implement planned recreational and social programs and to engage individuals. [1]
 Participates in and completes in a timely manner, in-service and training programs.[1]

 For those working in a Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF), the employee must be listed on the Wisconsin CBRF Employee Registry as having completed the four core DHS 83 courses—Standard Precautions and Medication Administration (prior to related duties), and Fire Safety and First Aid & Choking (within 90 days of hire).
 Prefer experience working with geriatric, mentally ill or developmentally disabled persons.
 Employees driving County vehicles must have and maintain a valid Driver's License and a good driving record.
 Must successfully pass a background check as required by the Wisconsin Caregiver Law.
 Must be 18 years of age.

Qualifications

 The Medication Assistant is to provide resident care services including assistance with self-administration of medication, to the residents in the Assisted Living area under the supervision of the Resident Care Director (RCD) according to scheduled duties and assist in maintaining a positive physical and social environment.
 Areas of Responsibility
 <ul>
<li>Able to approach all encounters with residents, associates, and visitors in a friendly, service-oriented manner.</li>
<li>Assist residents with medications as allowed under State guidelines.</li>
<li>Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, changing of bed linens, positioning, transfer, mobility, and incontinence care.</li>
<li>Work closely with and maintain daily communications with the Resident Services associates to ensure continuity of care and services is maintained for the residents.</li>
<li>Participate in resident activities and lead resident activities as needed.</li>
<li>Meet customer service standards in a friendly, helpful, courteous manner with resident satisfaction a priority.</li>

Qualifications
 <ul>
<li>Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.</li>
<li>Minimum one (1) year experience with senior adults highly preferred.</li>
<li>May be a Licensed or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Nursing Assistant (NA), depending on the state requirements; if licensed or certified, must be in good standing with the state licensing or certifying agency.</li>
<li>Must possess current Medication Training certification.</li>
<li>Must have a positive Criminal Background Screening.</li>
<li>The Community is a drug free workplace; associates are subject to adherence to the Company Drug Free Workplace policy.</li>
<li>Certification in CPR and first aid preferred or as required by the State.</li>
<li>Previous experience with computerized resident documentation systems preferred.</li>
