About the Program:</b></p>
<p>
Residential (RES): also known as the Diermeier Therapeutic Youth Home in North Lawndale. The facility can serve 70 youth, most of whom come through DCFS, group homes, foster care and psychiatric hospitals. The around-the-clock facility is staffed by more than 150 employees who provide services to decrease problematic behaviors. The program provides life skills, tutoring, therapy, educational opportunities, programmatic activities, sporting and recreational events, camping, part-time employment opportunities, and arts and crafts, among other offerings. The goal at discharge is to have successfully engaged youth so they can transition to foster care or transitional living services. The accredited program is considered high end because of services and supports provided to youth with the most difficult behaviors.</p><br>

Position Objective and Summary:</b></p>
<p>
Assists the Program Director with the overall programming and functioning of assigned residential unit(s) and provides direct supervision of the Residential Treatment Specialists in those unit(s).</p><br>

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:</b></p>

Monitoring Service Delivery</b></p>
<ul><li>
Monitors completion and appropriate content of written documentation on a regular basis to ensure appropriateness, accuracy and timeliness.</li><li>
Assists in the planning and implementation of therapeutic activities for each resident.</li><li>
Ensures the implementation of the program schedule to ensure timely interventions for each resident.</li><li>
Makes recommendations related to the overall treatment and discharge planning for each program resident.</li><li>
Provides follow-up with RTS&rsquo;s and other staff to ensure resolution of all critical incidents, unusual incidents, crisis situations and hotline reports for residents.</li><li>
Provides regular individual supervision to RTS&rsquo;s to ensure resident&rsquo;s needs are being met in accordance with program standards.</li></ul><br>

Identifying and Addressing Client Needs</b></p>
<ul><li>
Guides RTS&rsquo;s to base interventions on clinically appropriate, best practice, and ethical considerations.</li><li>
Role models acceptable behavioral interventions and techniques with residents for the benefit of both the residents and staff development.</li><li>
Supervises program Residential Treatment Specialist in order to achieve maximum utilization of personnel.</li><li>
Ensures ongoing development and implementation of clinical and therapeutic programming for the residents.</li><li>
Cooperatively works with other Residential dorms and departments to create and maintain the therapeutic milieu</li><li>
Guides RTS staff during crises to minimize trauma for the client and to support the staff members</li><li>
Understands the Mental Health diagnoses of clients and assists RTS&rsquo;s with interventions that consider those needs</li><li>
Considers any cultural factors that may be impacting the client or the appropriateness of services, and proficiently addresses them to provide needed services.</li></ul><br>

Orients and trains new employees according to program and department guidelines to ensure all new employees are ready and able to perform as necessary.</li><li>

Explains UCAN and DCFS procedures to employees in order to assist them in the utilizing all available resources for clients.</li><li>
Uses clinical and population specific knowledge to provide appropriate services and programming for clients</li><li>
Accurately completes all reports and documentation required by DCFS and other contracting and regulatory bodies</li><li>
Ensures all Medicaid documentation is completed and submitted as required</li><li>
Ensures that Crisis Management protocols for the department are followed</li><li>
Manages team expenses by following Finance Dept. procedures in approving petty cash, payments, check requests, mileage and expense reimbursements and other unit expenses</li><li>
Manages employee job performance by following HR procedures and documentation requirements for: hiring; job scheduling and assignment; disciplinary actions; recommendations for salaries, raises, promotions, demotions and terminations.</li></ul><br>

<div><p><b>SUMMARY OF POSITION:</b><br>
The Residential Route Supervisor is responsible for supervising the daily service delivery to residential Waste Pro customers ensuring safe, timely, and cost effective delivery of contracted services in accordance with Waste Pro practices ,procedures ,and applicable regulations. This position understands Waste Pro Core Values and applies principles of Positive Leadership in the supervision of drivers</p>
<p><b>
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
</b><br>
1. Directly responsible for the supervision of drivers and performance of daily operations. Greet drivers upon their arrival to the yard; ensure that pre and post trip inspections are conducted. Communicate to the driver's key service points, safety, and equipment issues while ensuring they are part of the Waste Pro team and understand the core values.<br>
2. Establish and maintain a clean, safe work environment and ensure compliance with company policies.
<br>
3. Share Decision Driving techniques and ensure that employees adhere to and are knowledgeable of Waste Pro safety guidelines. Reinforce daily safe work practices and assist with the delivery of weekly safety meetings.
<br>
4. Route all new service starts including obtaining work order, scheduling delivery of container and service days. Review productivity reports daily (yardage, tonnage and hauls), reroute non-performing routes to maximize service calls while ensuring that labor costs are minimized. Schedule removal of cans on a timely basis when service is cancelled.<br>
5. Follow the routes to ensure that Waste Pro provides a Distinguishably Different level of service to customers. Respond to dispatch calls or messages submitted via the Trac-Ez system. Talk with the driver(s) to clarify any unique service requirements and to make driver aware of the situation for the next day service. Address all customer issues, complaints and inquiries by speaking with the customer and/or driver. Address overloaded cans, renew contracts or refer service changes to the sales representative if applicable. Interact with city, state and municipalities to ensure customers are serviced in a timely manner.

6. Perform route observations to ensure safety procedures are followed. Ensure corrals are in good condition, cans are sanitized, debris is picked up around can, bins are placed and labeled properly, and gates are closed. Complete route observation reports and discuss observations with driver including safety issues, customer calls, route cleanliness and truck appearance. Identify training needs and review with driver.
<br>
7. Monitor driver's daily pre-trip inspection, address findings, and ensure driver conducts proper inspections. Review all truck repair issues and address with shop manager to ensure mechanical issues are fixed.
<br>
8. Monitor driver time and attendance, completed route sheets, disposal tickets and compliance with DOT hours of service and Waste Pro regulations.
<br>
9. Complete accident and injury reports. Respond to vehicle accident investigations, workers compensation and property damage claims.
<br>
10. Train and provide orientation for new employees.
<br>
11. Conduct performance evaluations, monitor and track employee attendance, complete disciplinary actions and attend meetings that apply positive leadership principles.<br>
12. Ensure front loaders are cleaned on a daily basis.
<br>
13. Drive and assist on routes to cover shortages. Assist drivers who are behind normal schedule as needed.</p>

A Christian nonprofit organization, BCH is nationally-accredited and uses CARE, a trauma-informed model to help children find healing. The Residential Case Manager Supervisor must demonstrate the Institutions purpose, philosophy, policies and procedures. The Residential Case Manager Supervisor works as a team member and oversees the day to day activities and needs of the children in care. These activities relate to supervising and maintaining individual and group relationships at the assigned areas. The Residential Case Manager Supervisor oversees and performs duties related to the function of the Human Services Ministry enabling teams, youth and families to function at the highest level of competency.
