The Child Care Worker (CCW) provides direct care supervision for children placed in a VQ residential setting. This
role is responsible for fostering a safe environment that facilitates learning and behavioral management in a
supportive manner in accordance with VQ, local state and federal policies and procedures. 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:<ul><li>Child Supervision and Engagement:</li></ul>
o Provide direct supervision of children in care and maintain line of sight at all times.
o Provide oversight during recreation, mealtime, leisure time, and play.
o Develops positive rapport with youth while serving as a role model to create a safe and
caring environment utilizing a trauma informed approach.
o Teach, coach, and supervise children in activities of daily living including morning,
bedtime, and overnight procedures, hygiene and cleanliness, housekeeping, meals,
intramurals, sports, academics, and extracurricular activities both on and off facility.
o Interact with children including playing games or during recreational time.
o Conducts orientation and overview of program services and program rules.
o Provides essential needs to children such as clothing, hygiene products, shower, bedroom
assignments, and cooking meals when needed.
o Assists with the planning and coordination of special educational events, acculturation
activities, holiday celebrations, recreational outings, and school drop off/pick-ups.
o Assist with children's appointments including but not limited to legal, medical and dental.
o Administer over the counter and prescribed medications.<ul><li>Safety:</li></ul>
o Maintain a safe, clean, and hazard-free facility by maintaining clean common areas,
restrooms, kitchen, laundry, and outdoor areas.
o Responsible for reporting all maintenance and supply needs.
o Assist in the evacuation of children as needed due to inclement weather conditions,
natural disasters, or other unforeseen occurrences.
o Responsible for the documentation of the child's progress, behavior, and health while in
care.
o Observe, report, and document identified behavior patterns and required information that
merit documentation such as progress notes, close observation, nightwatch checklist, bed
check logs, outing logs, incident reports, etc.<ul><li>Training and Compliance:</li></ul>
o Assist with providing training to new hires regarding role responsibilities within
VisionQuest.
o Participate in departmental, all staff, mandatory, and needed training opportunities.
o Follow Occupational Health and Safety protocols.<ul><li>Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor(s).</li></ul>

Program Overview:
Youth Villages' residential programs in Tennessee and Georgia provide safe, nurturing environments for youth ages 6 to 17 with complex behavioral and mental health challenges. These programs are offered across three types of facilities&mdash;secure facilities, open campuses, and group homes&mdash;each designed to meet the individual needs of youth exhibiting a range of referral behaviors, including aggression, self-harm, suicidal ideations, and problem sexual behavior. 
Our residential campuses deliver an intensive treatment program that strikes a unique balance between structure and freedom, all while preparing youth for continued success outside of a residential setting. A key focus is to help each youth step down to the least restrictive treatment option possible by developing the skills they need to thrive in less structured environments through trauma-informed care, clinical interventions, life skills building, and recreation therapy (in selection locations). Most youth also attend fully accredited schools located on our campuses, ensuring their educational progress continues alongside therapeutic support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The PRN Residential Master's Level Counselor:<ul><li>
Works directly with 8 to 12 youth daily</li><li>
Utilizes evidence-based practices when providing individual, group and family therapy to each resident</li><li>
Creates individualized treatment plans for each youth and updates them bi-weekly</li><li>
Completes admissions and discharges for the youth on residential campuses (including initial assessment and psychosocial)</li><li>
Consults with the treatment team and other staff members to plan placements, transfers, and discharges of youth</li><li>
Coordinates weekend visits for youth and develop safety plans with families</li><li>
Facilitates treatment meetings and consultations</li></ul><ul><li>
Completes daily documentation (such as missed appointments, contact notes, milieu notes, and precautionary notes) in an electronic medical record system (EMR)</li><li>

Additional Information:<ul><li>
The supervision and treatment of youth requires prolonged periods of walking, standing, running, climbing stairs, and physical agility.</li><li>

ABOUT THE ROLE

The YouthBuild Supportive Services Counselor plays a key role in the YouthBuild North Shore Program. We are seeking an individual to lead case management and counseling services for program participants. This individual will be responsible for overseeing intensive case management and offering guidance to support participants in their personal, legal, and social service needs. The Supportive Services Counselor will work closely the Community Outreach Counselor and with the supportive services team to build participants' leadership skills through guidance, counseling, and mentoring. Coordinate substance abuse and mental health education efforts, establish referral partnerships, and maintain a comprehensive database of social service providers and resources.</li>

Collaborate with external service providers, including case managers, probation officers, and treatment programs, and advocate for participants&rsquo; needs during meetings (e.g., court hearings, foster care reviews) and community events.</li>

Monitor services to ensure they meet participant needs, follow the service plan, and address issues promptly, including crisis and higher-level care referrals.</li>

Utilize assessment tools for youth (e.g., SBIRT, DAST-10, CES-D, YRBS) to evaluate needs and connect clients with appropriate resources such as mental health facilities, addiction treatment programs, medical services, housing, employment, or legal assistance.</li>

Act as a liaison between clients and healthcare providers to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.</li>

Present YouthBuild services to community partners, social service agencies, and attend outreach or community events outside regular hours as needed, maintaining collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.</li>

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor&rsquo;s degree required; Master&rsquo;s degree preferred, or equivalent experience (5+ years) in human services, social services, education, school counseling, criminal justice, or related fields, with supervisory and case management experience.</li>
