Scaffold Builder Journeyman

This person will construct, assemble, maintain, and dismantles tubular scaffolding or other temporary structures. This is accomplished by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities. A minimum of 3 years of experience is required within the Scaffolding craft. Other duties may be assigned.

 Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Determines type of scaffold needed.</li>
<li>Inspects job site and all scaffold material for defects and safety hazards.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Effectively communicates safety hazards and mitigates avoidable hazards prior to construction of scaffolding.</li>
<li>Transports tubular scaffold or other structural material and erects the scaffold to the dimensions required.</li>
<li>Hoists scaffolding materials upward in order to erect temporary structure.</li>
<li>Properly secures and levels locking sections of scaffolding material.</li>
<li>Properly secures scaffold to the permanent structure for added stability.</li>
</ul><ul><li>Adheres to all OSHA, site specific and Austin Industrial requirements for the erecting and navigation of the scaffolding.</li>
<li>Performs final inspection of completed scaffolding.</li>
<li>Dismantles scaffolding when it has been properly communicated to do so.</li>
<li>Inspects and properly stows scaffolding material after dismantling.</li>

Qualifications Required for this Position:

Education &ndash; High School diploma with a certification as a lubrication technician.

Language Skills - Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. For safety reasons, it is imperative that the employee be able to read and speak fluent English.

Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

JOB TITLE: SUPERINTENDENT - CONSTRUCTION (SCAFFOLDING) 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li> Preparation of the project scaffolding plan, manpower, and equipment forecasts.
