Campus Safety Worker Full-Time

<div><p><b>POSITION SUMMARY</b></p><p>
Temporary<b> </b>Campus Safety Officer monitors student behavior on the school campus and at select extra-curricular events; patrols and checks facilities for security; performs traffic and crowd control, responds to urgent situations, assists the Success Center staff, and greets and controls access of visitors to the campus. This is a part-time, as-needed position.</p><p><b>

ESSENTIAL DUTIES</b></p><ul><li>
Enforces school policies and rules</li><li>
Observes and controls student behavior in non-classroom activities, including, but not limited to, before and after school activities, lunch periods, passing periods, and special school activities such as dances, theater performances, and home athletic events</li><li>
Assists school administration in daily tasks including traffic supervision, parking regulations, lunch, break, and chapel supervision</li><li>
Refers students to an Administrator, as necessary</li><li>
Discourages disruptive and potentially dangerous behavior</li><li>
Observes, controls, and reports damage to school property</li><li>
Patrols the campus, student parking, and loitering areas, as well as the surrounding off-campus area</li><li>
Secures facilities, including main buildings, classrooms, restrooms, field, and locker rooms</li><li>
Uses hand-held radio for communication</li><li>
Locates students on campus; escorts students to/from classes</li><li>
May detain students or non-students until the arrival of law enforcement personnel</li><li>
Assists in the evacuation of buildings</li><li>
Assists in checking for weapons, drugs, or alcohol by established procedures</li><li>
Discusses behavior and attendance problems informally with students</li><li>
Identifies and checks the presence of any unauthorized individuals on campus</li><li>
Responds to reports of injuries or emergencies</li><li>

Campus Safety Worker - Temporary

State College Area School District

The State College Area School District is searching for an anticipated full-time Security Guard at the State College Area High School. This person will work with students, parents, and visitors, in addition to faculty and administrators.
<br><br>
The Security Guard must be able to develop positive relationships/interactions with young adults while managing difficult situations with skill, patience, and diplomacy. Contributing to a positive school culture is paramount. The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations. The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently as well as within a team on projects and must be able to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of situations and confidential matters with discretion. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required. This position will also require working various after school events including but not limited to: sporting events, prom, graduation, and community events.
