Under the direction of the Chief of the Groundwater Protection and Waste Containment Division, a Supervising Water Resource Control Engineer, the incumbent will direct the activities of the Division&rsquo;s Land Disposal and Waste Containment section. The section consists of technical staff responsible for managing projects in the Water Board&rsquo;s Land Disposal Program and Site Cleanup Program. The projects involve investigation and cleanup of toxic pollutants in the environment and the regulatory oversight of land disposal facilities.</p><p>
The incumbent is Region 2&rsquo;s Land Disposal Program Manager and helps to ensure the effective administration of the Site Cleanup Program.</p><p>
The incumbent assigns, monitors, and reviews staff work to assure consistency with Water Board policies and practices; uses technical engineering judgment to review, direct, and guide staff&rsquo;s work, communicate feedback, and manage program performance to restore and protect water quality, beneficial uses, and human health consistent with division and program priorities; ensures that staff manage investigation and cleanup projects and land disposal facilities by scoping, planning, tracking, and communicating with external stakeholders; establishes and tracks section goals, reviews staff workplans and development plans, and manages staff performance. The incumbent also oversees staff development of orders, directives, Board/Executive Officer reports, and enforcement actions; identifies responsible and interested parties, coordinates with legal counsel, reviews and responds to comments, prepares Board items and prepares administrative records; and attends and presents at public or community meetings that may be held during or after regular business hours.</p><p>
Duties also include communicating orally and providing written correspondence regarding projects via email with external stakeholders, peers, and management; using engineering knowledge and technical expertise, developing written reports and PowerPoint presentations and attending meetings with peers, supervisors, management, and external stakeholders; providing status of tasks or projects, sharing technical and regulatory information, seeking input, and facilitating and supporting decisions surrounding the regulatory oversight of investigation and cleanup projects and land disposal facilities; using sound engineering logic and professional judgment, coordinating with specialists and other supervisors/managers to implement guidance and best practices; working collaboratively in groups internally and with external stakeholders to develop technical, regulatory, and procedural recommendations for projects and issues.</p><p><b>

Senior / Associate Project Manager commercial / Retail <br> <b>Salary:</b> £65,000 - £80,000 + benefits<p></p><p>This expanding consultancy is strengthening its project management capability following significant growth across the UK. They're now seeking a Senior or Associate Project Manager to take the lead on major new-build developments including new build food retail units. </p><p> </p><p><b>The Role</b></p><p><br> You'll take ownership of major commercial and retail projects from inception to completion, guiding multidisciplinary teams through design, procurement, and delivery. Expect variety, autonomy, and high levels of visibility within the regional leadership team.</p><p>Typical responsibilities include:<br> - Leading end-to-end delivery of new-build schemes valued £10m-£70m+<br> - Managing client relationships and stakeholder groups across design, construction, and local authorities<br> - Overseeing Section 278 and highways interface works<br> - Driving risk, programme, and cost management to ensure successful outcomes<br> - Mentoring junior project managers and contributing to regional best practice</p><p><b>About You</b><br> You'll be a confident project leader who enjoys the challenge of large-scale delivery and stakeholder coordination. You'll bring:<br> - Proven experience managing high-value new-build projects, ideally within consultancy or client-side settings<br> - Strong understanding of project governance, procurement, and commercial drivers<br> - Experience with Section 278 or other infrastructure-heavy elements (advantageous)<br> - Professional qualification (RICS, CIOB, or PMP) desirable but not essential</p><p>Chartership isn't mandatory here - capability and delivery track record come first.</p><p><b>Why Apply?</b><br> This is a strategic opportunity to help shape a growing regional PM offering.
