This exempt position is responsible for reviewing and approving financial information within new client matter intake and for tracking, maintaining, and managing client rates and discounts within the legal billing system (Elite 3E). The Senior Financial Billing Rates Analyst is responsible for ensuring that client and matter rate structures are accurate across all systems and in accordance with agreed upon outside counsel guidelines and engagement letters. This individual will support and interface with multiple billing attorneys in different practice areas within our Haynes and Boone offices across the globe. This person will also communicate with multiple Business Services departments within the firm including Client Intake, Pricing, Billing, and Finance as well as with firm clients while maintaining confidentiality of client and firm matters.
Essential Duties
<ul><li>Review and approve all new client matter intake forms and ensure accurate setup in Elite 3E including billing arrangements, rates, discounts, and payment terms.
</li><li>Review and maintain rate and discount information on clients and matters within Elite 3E.
</li><li>Analyze the firm's rate structures, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client agreements by proactively tracking and managing client rate expirations and/or deadlines to ensure timely submittal of rate changes. Facilitate conversations with our Partners to ensure they are aware of client deadlines and are provided with the necessary information to take action with our clients.
</li><li>Ensure rate and discount requests are approved per the firm&rsquo;s financial operational policies.
</li><li>Enter and maintain timekeeper standard rates (and other special rates) within Elite 3E.
</li><li>Regularly review timekeeper and rate information on e‐billing sites to ensure accuracy.
</li><li>Compile client rate reports and facilitate conversation with attorneys and clients regarding rate changes.
</li><li>Collaborate with Business Development and Pricing to respond to RFPs. Partner with Pricing to ensure that negotiated rate arrangements are set up and maintained in accordance with the agreed terms and conditions.
</li><li>Ensure compliance with existing firm billing and intake policies and procedures, recommending changes when necessary.
</li><li>Ensure compliance with meeting client, firm, and attorney deadlines around rate increases, rate reporting, and new client matter intake.

</li><li>Review and update client and matter special handling requirements around rates and rate increases.

Reporting Relationship
The Senior Financial Billing Rates Analyst reports directly to the Senior Manager of Billing and collaborates with other Business Services departments outside of Billing such as (but not limited to) the Intake Team, the Pricing Team, and the Business Development Team. Additionally, the Analyst will have routine communications with the firms partners. This position does not supervise staff. 
 
Qualifications
Knowledge/Experience
Three to five years of relevant experience is required. This individual must have proficient knowledge of Elite 3E and Microsoft Office applications, primarily Excel, Word and Outlook. A solid understanding of the billing and intake processes in the professional services industry (ideally within a law firm environment) is preferred. A broad range of technical ability, with a demonstrated aptitude and willingness to learn new software/applications is needed for this position. Experience working with Intapp Terms and Intapp Intake is a plus. 
 
Skills
The Senior Financial Billing Rates Analyst must have superior attention to detail, time management and organizational skills. Additionally, the ideal candidate must possess strong analytical skills and be able to effectively multi-task and prioritize work to meet aggressive deadlines. The individual must possess strong client focus, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work both individually and as a member of a team. The ability to work with many different types of personalities at all levels of organization is a must. 
 
Education
A degree in accounting, finance or related field is required. Equivalent experience will be considered.

Make your impact within a rapidly growing Fintech Company

The Product Management &ndash; Growth team at BILL builds the experiences and platforms that power how our customers adopt, expand, and realize value from our solutions. As the Senior Lead Product Manager, Billing, you will own the vision, strategy, and execution for BILL&rsquo;s billing platform and capabilities, ensuring they are robust, flexible, and tightly aligned to our growth and monetization objectives. This is a high-impact expert individual contributor role where you&rsquo;ll partner closely with Engineering, Finance, GTM, and Operations to shape how BILL prices, packages, and bills customers at scale. You&rsquo;ll translate complex business needs into simple, reliable billing experiences that unlock revenue growth and make it easier for customers to do business with BILL. 

Responsibilities:

<li>Own and articulate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for BILL&rsquo;s billing platform and core billing capabilities, aligned to company growth and monetization priorities.</li>
<li>Lead end-to-end delivery of billing features and platform enhancements using both bespoke and third-party capabilities&mdash;from problem discovery and requirements definition through launch, migration, and ongoing optimization.</li>
<li>Partner with Engineering and Architecture to design scalable, resilient billing systems and data models that support diverse pricing, packaging, discounts, and invoicing scenarios.</li>
<li>Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, RevOps, and GTM to ensure billing changes are operationally sound, compliant, and accurately reflected across downstream systems and processes.</li>
<li>Use data and customer insights to define success metrics, diagnose issues (e.g., revenue leakage, billing disputes), and prioritize improvements that drive revenue, reliability, and customer trust.</li>
<li>Champion a growth mindset by running structured experiments (e.g., billing experiences, plan constructs, self-serve changes) and translating learnings into scalable product decisions.</li>
<li>Mentor other product managers and cross-functional partners on best practices in platform thinking, experimentation, and billing domain expertise, raising the bar for the broader team.</li>

ROLE OVERVIEW and PURPOSE:

The Senior Manager of Billing provides strategic and operational leadership over the organization&rsquo;s billing team, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant reimbursement. This role oversees billing, collections, coding, eligibility, and payer relations while driving process improvements, reducing denials, and optimizing financial performance. The Senior Manager works closely with leadership to ensure billing operations meet organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

<li>Oversee the daily billing process, including eligibility, coding, data reconciliation, claim billing and submission, payment posting, denial management and accounts receivable</li>
<li>Monitor payer trends, payer changes, and reimbursement rates</li>
<li>Lead, mentor, and develop staff to help drive their growth and success individually and departmentally</li>
<li>Collaborate with team supervisors to establish performance metrics to identify inefficiencies and establish process improvements</li>
<li>Ensure adherence to federal, state, payer regulations and HPAA guidelines</li>
<li>Manage relationships with third-party payers, clearinghouses, and clinical staff to ensure timely and accurate claims processing</li>
</ul>
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
<ul>
<li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in healthcare administration, Business, Finance, or a related field required</li>
<li>5+ years of progressive experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, including at least 3-5 years in a leadership role required</li>
<li>Certified Professional Coding Certification (CPC) with 5 years&rsquo; coding experience preferred</li>
<li>Proven experience managing denial prevention and resolution, accounts receivable, and payer relations</li>
<li>Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems and revenue cycle platforms; preferred eCW</li>
</ul>
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
