 The Center for Brain and Health (CBH) at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to recruit a Junior Research Scientist to support innovative clinical and translational research on brain health and disease in diverse populations within the UAE and wider MENA region.

 The successful applicant will play a central role in the day-to-day execution of human-subjects research studies, working within a multidisciplinary team of faculty investigators, research assistants, clinicians, and students. The position involves coordinating clinical and observational research protocols that integrate advanced neuroimaging, neuromonitoring, and behavioural methods, with a strong emphasis on regulatory compliance, participant safety, and high-quality data collection.

 Key responsibilities include coordinating participant recruitment and workflow (pre-screening, informed consent, scheduling, and follow-up), maintaining regulatory and ethics documentation, liaising with clinical partners and imaging facilities, and overseeing clinical aspects of MRI, EEG, and MEG sessions. The Junior Research Scientist / Clinical Coordinator will also contribute to the development of standard operating procedures, support training of research assistants and students, track study progress and recruitment metrics, and assist with grant applications, ethics submissions, and progress reporting. The role works closely with dedicated neuroimaging and research assistants who focus on technical data acquisition, imaging pipelines, and analysis, while the Clinical Coordinator leads clinical governance and participant-facing workflows.

 Applicants must hold a Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in psychology, neuroscience, biomedical sciences, nursing, or a related field; a Master&rsquo;s degree or clinical qualification (e.g., nursing, allied health, clinical psychology) is strongly preferred. Candidates should have 2&ndash;3 years of experience coordinating human-subjects research or clinical trials, ideally in neurology, psychiatry, or related areas, and demonstrated familiarity with ethical and regulatory requirements for human research. Experience working with patient populations and/or in neuroimaging or neuromodulation environments (MRI, EEG, MEG, TMS) is highly advantageous. Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic or other languages spoken in the UAE is an asset.

<li>Contributes to the design and execution of experimental medicine studies to demonstrate proof-of-mechanism of novel targets in aging and age-related diseases</li>

The Senior Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) oversees and administers<br>
clinical research studies and associated activities. This position will assist
<br>
with the development and management of study budgets. The Senior CRC
<br>
will assist with the review of protocol requirements and assist with the

collection of impact statements needed to properly assign costs to each
<br>
assessment/procedure. The Senior CRC will provide feedback on the

amount of time necessary for conduct staff to administer assessments and

procedures as assigned during the budgeting process. The Senior CRC

shall cooperate as necessary with the Geneva Corporate Manager to

ensure that studies remain financially healthy, including but not limited to,

About the Project<br>
<br>
This position will support multiple research projects under the MIRROR program. Musculoskeletal Injury Rehabilitation Research for Operational Readiness (MIRROR) delivers high value research, education, training, and infrastructure for over 40 clinically relevant musculoskeletal injury (MSI) studies within the military health system (MHS). MIRROR supports a broad scope of projects, including epidemiological investigation, investigator initiated pilots, and prospective randomized multisite clinical trials. Areas of clinical evaluation comprise general MSI care process models and highly prevalent anatomically-specific (e.g. back, knee, shoulder pain, etc.) targeted interventions with protocols examining effective return-to-duty activities. These studies particularly focus on deployment-limiting MSIs, ensuring that research addresses the challenges faced by service members in maintaining operational readiness. Results of these studies generate evidence-based approaches for future clinical practice guidelines as well as educational opportunities for future military and civilian providers at WRNMMC and USU.<br>

</p><ul><li>Recommend testing strategies and study designs that align with business objectives and consumer needs, providing clear guidance to cross‑functional project teams.</li><li>
Independently design, plan, and lead moderate‑to‑complex sensory and consumer research projects, applying established and innovative methodologies.</li><li>
Lead the design and execution of sensory and consumer studies, ensuring study plans, methods, and analyses are aligned with defined objectives and stakeholder needs.</li><li>
Synthesize data using advanced statistical principles, evaluate results, and translate findings into well‑supported conclusions that provide actionable insights to project teams.</li><li>
Communicate insights and strategic recommendations clearly and effectively to cross‑functional stakeholders across the organization.</li><li>
Collaborate closely with partners in R&amp;D, global sensory, marketing, and quality, ensuring alignment, integration of perspectives, and consistent application of best practices.</li><li>
Assist in the coordination, documentation, and scheduling of internal panels by partnering with panel leaders and ensuring high-quality, consistent execution across studies.</li><li>
Assist with the planning, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of sensory training programs.</li><li>
Partner with sensory staff to ensure smooth operation of routine lab functions, supporting efficient workflows, compliance, and adherence to best practices.</li><li>
Assist in maintaining standardized practices and protocols across the sensory organization, staying current with industry best practices and emerging techniques to help inform continuous improvement.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>
Required Qualifications</b></p><p><b>
Required</b>
</p><ul><li>B.S. degree in Food Science, Sensory Science, Data Analytics, or closely related field, plus 7 years of professional experience.</li><li>
Demonstrated experience designing and leading descriptive, discrimination, and quantitative consumer studies and communicating results effectively to project teams.</li><li>
Must be able to manage multiple priorities and projects in a speed oriented, rapidly changing environment</li><li>
Effective communication skills, strong analytical skills and attention to detail are needed</li><li>
Must be able to taste any and all kinds of nutrition products, ingredients or substances necessary to perform this job without restriction.</li></ul><p><b>
Preferred</b>:</p><ul><li>
MS or higher degree with emphasis in Sensory Science preferred.</li><li>
Strong background conducting and interpreting qualitative and quantitative consumer research</li><li>
Experience with descriptive panel leadership</li><li>
Proficient using Sensory and Statistical software (Compusense and XLSTAT), PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Word</li><li>
