In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work of medium to high complexity as per work instructions and ABB guidelines. Each day, you will deliver excellent customer service to satisfy customers. You will be mainly accountable for:<ul><li>
Performing complex field service tasks, identifies technical problems, and makes analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products for which they are certified to perform.</li><li>
Planing and preparing site work for larger project team and manages related subcontractors at site.</li><li>
Contributing to customer satisfaction by planning and executing service work as per customer order and expectations.</li><li>
Ensuring customer retention by delivering superior customer experience and effectively communicating service work timeline and expectations.</li><li>
Taking actions to identify new service business opportunities for ABB, in close cooperation with customer and other ABB teams.</li><li>
Coaching technicians and engineers and supervising complex site activities.</li></ul>

Qualifications<ul><li>
Graduate Engineer in instrumentation, Electrical or Equivalent Engineering degree.</li><li>
Must have minimum 8 years of experience of at least 5 years as customer support / project / service engineer of System 800xA based safety systems preferably in Oil &amp; Gas / Power &amp; Water industry.</li><li>
Good hands-on experience in system 800xA based integrated control and safety system (both hardware and software) is a Must-have with AC800MHI library-based application development &ndash; project &amp; commissioning</li><li>
Knowledge of FSMS (functional safety management system) is a Must-have for this role and valid Functional Safety certifications preferred such as TUV FS engineer, ABB certifications etc.</li><li>
Knowledge of Functional safety technical standards IEC61511, IEC61508 and corresponding system engineering practice experience.</li><li>
Hands on Experience in Industrial networking, network switch configuration</li><li>
Hands on experience in Cyber security for 800xA based systems</li><li>

 Demonstrating expert knowledge in testing and commissioning of Siemens switchgear types including NXAIR (AIS), 8DA/DB (GIS), 8DJH (RMU), and Sivacon S8 (LV), along with associated protection systems.

 Executing on‑site installation, testing, and commissioning of GIS &amp; AIS systems in accordance with Siemens standards and approved customer drawings.

 Performing pre‑commissioning activities, component testing, scheme checks and modifications, HV testing, and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) at customer premises.
 </li>
 <li>
 Independently managing site activities, supervising technicians, and ensuring strict adherence to quality and safety standards.

 <li>
 Preparing and maintaining comprehensive site documentation including test reports, inspection records, Method Statements (MOS), and handover documents.

 Preparing SOPs, MOS, and other project documentation to support back‑office and project teams.
 </li>

 Interacting directly with customers, addressing technical queries, and maintaining clear and professional communication.

 Collaborating with factory, engineering, and project teams to resolve site issues and meet project timelines.
 </li>

 Ensuring strict compliance with HSE (Health, Safety &amp; Environment) guidelines during all site operations.

 Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and providing technical feedback for future design and process enhancements.

 Demonstrating willingness to work in challenging Oil &amp; Gas environments and remote customer facilities, including extended working hours (up to 10 hours per day, 7 days a week) during shutdown activities.

 Providing advanced technical support for Siemens distribution systems with a strong focus on testing and troubleshooting.

 Acting as Siemens&rsquo; on‑site technical representative, leading end‑to‑end testing and commissioning activities.

 Coordinating and validating test results, updating site‑specific documentation, and closing all open punch points.

 Collaborating with customer teams to ensure timely completion and acceptance of commissioning activities.

 Your Success Is Grounded In
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 A bachelor&rsquo;s degree in electrical engineering, Power Engineering, High Voltage Engineering, or a related discipline.
 </li>
 <li>
 Minimum 5&ndash;6 years of experience as an Installation and Commissioning Engineer in utilities, industries, and Oil &amp; Gas facilities.
 </li>
 <li>
 Expert‑level knowledge of Siemens MV and LV products and power applications. Siemens commissioning certifications in Transformers, NXAIR, 8DA10, Sivacon S8, and protection systems are preferred.
 </li>
 <li>
 Hands‑on experience with test equipment such as Omicron CPC100, CT Analyzer, CMC356, HV test kits, breaker timing kits, etc. (mandatory).
 </li>
 <li>
 Readiness and flexibility to work in remote site locations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Valid Oman driving license or a driving license eligible for conversion in Oman (mandatory).
 </li>
 <li>
 Proven experience in utilities, industries, transmission grid stations, and Oil &amp; Gas facilities.
 </li>
 <li>
 Prior work experience in Oman with DCRP, OETC, and PDO approvals will be an added advantage.
 </li>
 <li>
 Intercultural experience gained through work in the Middle East.
 </li>
 <li>
 Knowledge of competitor products is an advantage.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong initiative, collaboration skills, and effective communication abilities.
 </li>
 <li>
 Business‑level English language proficiency, with strong communication and presentation skills.
 </li>
 <li>
