Position Summary</h1>
The Senior Manager, Principal Trainer Lead is responsible for overseeing curriculum design and instructional strategy for Epic training across all CVS business units. This role manages the training environment, ensuring standards, integrity, and coordination, and serves as the technical and instructional lead for the Principal Trainer team. The Senior Manager partners with operational, clinical, and technical teams to deliver high-quality, standardized training, drive upgrade training initiatives, and support user education before and after go-live.<h1 class="jobSectionHeader">
Key Responsibilities</h1><ul><li>
Curriculum Leadership</li><li>
Oversee curriculum design for all Epic applications, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and best practices.</li><li>
Lead instructional design efforts, including development of tip sheets, memos, and educational materials.</li><li>
Guide Principal Trainers in curriculum development and delivery.</li><li>
Complete curriculum design to support business requests, as needed.</li><li>
Training Environment Management</li><li>
Manage the Epic training environment, maintaining standards, integrity, and coordination across domains.</li><li>
Oversee environment build, security access, and readiness for training activities.</li><li>
Technical &amp; Instructional Oversight</li><li>
Serve as the technical and instructional lead for Principal Trainers, providing mentorship and guidance.</li><li>
Ensure consistency and quality in training delivery across all domains, including but not limited to, Clinical, Revenue Cycle, Ancillary, and Access.</li><li>
Upgrade Training &amp; Implementation</li><li>
Lead upgrade training initiatives, including NOVA note review, content creation, environment updates, and delivery.</li><li>
Coordinate training for new implementations and system upgrades.</li><li>
User Support</li><li>
Oversee user support activities, including pre- and post-live education and incident management related to training.</li><li>
Ensure effective support for end users across all Epic domains.</li><li>
Organize feedback from business users.</li><li>
Cross-Functional Collaboration</li><li>
Partner with Clinical Informatics, IT, Compliance, and operational leaders to align training with workflows, policies, and strategic initiatives.</li><li>

Required Qualifications</h1><ul><li>
Minimum of 7 years of experience in Epic training, with at least 3 years in a leadership role focused on training or education.</li><li>
Proven experience designing and managing Epic training programs in a large, complex healthcare environment.</li><li>
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage large-scale training initiatives.</li><li>
Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.</li><li>
Experience managing Epic training environments, including environment build and security access.</li><li>
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.</li><li>
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and eLearning development tools (e.g., Articulate, Captivate, uPerform).</li></ul><h1 class="jobSectionHeader">
Preferred Qualifications</h1><ul><li>
Epic certification in one or more modules (e.g., Ambulatory, Cadence, Professional Billing).</li><li>
Experience with curriculum development and instructional design for Epic applications.</li><li>
Experience with MST environment rebuilds.</li><li>
Experience with system governance, policy and procedure documentation.</li><li>
Strong relationship management experience.</li><li>

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$67,900.00 - $199,144.00 
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company&rsquo;s equity award program.
