Buncombe County is hiring for one (1) Customer Service Call Center Representative. This individual will report to the Customer Service Call Center Supervisor. The Customer Service Call Center team consists of 14 employees plus the supervisor, and reports to The Income Maintenance Administrator.</div><div></div><div>
The primary purpose of this role is to answer incoming calls to our agency and assist our clients with questions they have regarding their program specific cases, or just general questions about services and/or programs that we offer. The position is from 8am to 5pm with an hour lunch. Initially, this position will be working in-person at 40 Coxe Avenue. Over time, after a thorough training period, a remote schedule will be allowed depending on how quickly the employee becomes familiar with the role and demonstrates reliability. The expected start date for this position will be mid-October, depending on several factors, including but not limited to, the candidate&rsquo;s current employment and resignation time requirements.</div><div></div><div>
Purpose of the position:</div><div>
The purpose of this position is to provide accurate, timely and integrated customer service in person or by telephone to customers across various Health and Human Services programs.</div><div></div><div>
Minimum Education, Training and/or Experience (required at time of hire): Associate&rsquo;s degree in Human Services Technology, Social Services, Paralegal Technology, Business Administration, Secretarial Science, or a closely related curriculum and one (1) year of paraprofessional, clerical, or other public contact experience which included negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, gathering and compiling of data, analysis of data and/or performance of mathematical or legal tasks; or High school diploma or GED, and two (2) years of paraprofessional, clerical, or other public contact experience which included negotiating, interviewing, explaining information, gathering and compiling of data, analysis of data and/or performance of mathematical or legal tasks; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.</div><div></div><div>

Answer questions and gather information from new and established customers in support of an application for services or ongoing services/benefits.</li><li>
Explain Agency services across a variety of HHS program areas and transfer calls/route customers to appropriate staff within HHS as needed.</li><li>
Gather information from clients through the interview process for the purpose of determining applicant eligibility for Food &amp; Nutrition (FNS) benefits.</li><li>
Process changes to client information for Food &amp; Nutrition (FNS), Medicaid and Work First Family Assistance (WFFA).</li><li>

I. Job Summary<br>

As a customer service representative (CSR), you will interact with WM Customers via Multi-Channel Customer Service, which may be a combination of platforms including phone, email, live chat, or self-service channels. Inclusive of a variety of inquiries including billing and proration, service changes, cancellations and missed service inquiries. The WM CSR should expect to handle 60-80 contacts a day in a fast-paced/high-volume environment and to use multiple applications, knowledge bases, tools, and calculators to research and resolve customer queries. The WM CSR will handle a number of escalated contacts. The ability to consistently provide an exceptional level of customer service, briefly explain complex issues in simple terms, and demonstrate appropriate de-escalation techniques is critical to their success. Sales and retention are also key components of the CSR role. The WM CSR is expected to skillfully highlight the features and benefits of WM products and services to increase revenue and retain at risk customers.<br>

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities<br>
</p><ul><li>Fields customer service inquiries and handles customer service transactions independently and proficiently: o Demonstrates appropriate active listening skills/confirms understanding of customer needs, issues, and requests o Uses authorized systems to gather information, provide information, and/or update customer records.  Provides standard information and education regarding service options, charges, billing, and contracts.</li><li><ul><li>Demonstrates ownership of the customer issue by providing one call resolution: o Makes every reasonable attempt to resolve the customer&rsquo;s issue and exhausts all other solutions before escalating the customer&rsquo;s query. o Serves as an advocate for customers with repeat issues by engaging the right department and people within WM. o Communicates concise and accurate information.</li></ul></li><li>
Listens for and identifies opportunities to cross sell additional products and services.</li><li>
Establishes customer accounts by negotiating and documenting service type, pricing, billing, and other required information.</li><li>
Supports other service lines when required.</li><li>
Attempts to retain customers who call to cancel services by probing for cancellation reasons and offering alternatives.</li><li>
Meets or exceeds service and operational standards established for the call center, including attendance, adherence, quality, productivity, safety, and timeliness goals.</li><li>
Completes cross training with Operations, Sales, and Billing.</li><li>
