About the Role</h3>
As a Drain Technician / Repipe Specialist, you will respond to residential drain service calls, diagnose root causes, and recommend appropriate repair or repipe solutions when necessary. <div>The Service Technician - Wastewater is responsible for sewer line repair(s), sewer line maintenance, jetting, video inspections, and installation of sewer line(s), location &amp; repairs of manholes, landscaping, cutting and clearing of sewer easements, installation of Air Release Valves, sewer meters and Oda Logger, installation of creek crossing, maintaining roads to all wastewater lift stations, and all safety requirements such as flagging and traffic control.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.<ul><li>
Repairs manholes, raising &amp; lowering manholes and the rehab of manholes using root control, spray epoxy coating, grout and/or hydraulic cement.</li><li>
Repairs sewer lines by digging up, replacing and installing new pipe. Also includes cutting and/or removal of concrete or asphalt.</li><li>
Performs landscaping duties to include cutting grass with tractor and/or bush hog, weed eating, prepping yard for new sod by raking and shoveling, spread seed, hay and/or straw, laying new sod, installation and/or removal of silt fence.</li><li>
Clears sewer easements to include operating tractor and/or bush hog, pole saw, limb beaver, chain saw, operating ATV and/or UTV, beaver trapping and removing beaver dams.</li><li>
Performs Air Release Valves (ARV) maintenance by scheduled inspections requiring disassembly and reassembling, cleaning, installation of ARV &amp; removal of ARV.</li><li>
Performs maintenance on sewer meters including installation &amp; removal, cleaning and able to read software.</li><li>
Performs jetting (high velocity jet truck) duties, including the operation of the truck, jetting sewer lines, cleaning roads and watering sod.</li><li>
Performs smoke testing which involves operating a smoke machine and visually locating leaks in sewer lines, manholes and clean-out(s). Repairs any problems found.</li><li>
Maintains Oda-Logger &amp; read software that measure H2S.</li><li>
Operates CCTV truck and UTV camera. Also performs cleaning &amp; maintenance on camera, operates cctv software by documenting video inspections.</li><li>
Installs and maintains roads and crossings on Right of Way (ROW) and lift stations.</li><li>
Locates manholes using a Pin Finder, Rigid locator, GIS WEBMAP.</li><li>
The Service Technician &ndash; Wastewater is also responsible for all aspects of reporting and cleanup of a Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO). This includes stopping overflow, removal of any sewer that is on the ground, sanitizing area with lime.</li><li>
Assists other HCWA departments by cleaning sludge ponds, pumping out and cleaning of wet wells, clearing of water distribution easements.</li><li>
Responds to all customer complaint calls from dispatcher such as sewer back-ups, sewer smell, broken clean-outs, etc.</li><li>
Observes and abides by all established safety rules and regulations. Ensures use of gas detectors, tripod &amp; harness retrieval system, and all PPE.</li><li>
Conducts maintenance inspections on vehicles, equipment and facilities. Performs daily routine maintenance as needed.</li><li>
Transports equipment, tools, and materials to and from job sites.</li><li>
Completes all forms of work orders including customer complaint calls, Granite.net work orders, confined space entry forms, and D.O.T. inspections.</li><li>
Employees may be required to be on &ldquo;on-call&rdquo; status during periods outside of their assigned shift or work period according to section 2.3.c. in the employee handbook.</li></ul>
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.

Overview:

Position Purpose:
Perform technical work and administer professional services contracts with outside firms. The technical work involves managing databases, investigating conditions within the collection system, complying with state and federal discharge permits and planning for capital improvements. The position will address requests: to assess pipe capacities and flooding potential; analyze flow metering data; and interpret and apply rainfall data. The position will also interact with MWRA staff and regulators concerning the performance of the Commission&rsquo;s water distribution, sanitary sewer, and combined sewer systems. 

Responsibilities:

Evaluates impacts of new and revised local, state and federal regulatory requirements on the Commission&rsquo;s operations and systems. Prepares written comments on new and revised regulatory requirements.</li><li>
Develops reports to comply with the Commission&rsquo;s regulatory requirements, including but not limited to, the Commission&rsquo;s Consent Decree with EPA, the Commission&rsquo;s NPDES Permits for CSOs and stormwater, and the MWRA&rsquo;s Municipal Discharge Permit.
</li><li>Prepares reports, permit applications, and grant requests for local state and federal agencies.</li><li>
Directs the Commission&rsquo;s Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination Program (IDDE), including notifying property owners of upcoming dye testing, coordinating correction of illicit connections, pursuing enforcement for correction of illicit connections by private owners, supervising consultants during plug dye testing and tracking program progress.
</li><li>Manages the Commission&rsquo;s Lead Tap Water Sampling Program, including identifying sample sites, contacting and providing results of sampling to participants, coordinating sampling, delivering sample bottles, preparing compliance reports and ensuring chain of custody compliance.</li><li>
Compiles, maintains and evaluates data collected from rain gauges, flow meters and level sensors within the Commission&rsquo;s collection system.</li><li>
Provides technical review of projects or studies that can affect changes in water quality and discharge amounts into and from the collection system.</li><li>
Maintains and updates the Commission&rsquo;s sewer and drain models. Using the model, simulates hydraulic conditions in the Commission&rsquo;s sewer and drain systems. Develops model scenarios and assess their effectiveness. Responds to requests for hydraulic analysis.
</li><li>Monitors changes in the collection system to be incorporated into the models used by the MWRA and the Commission. Utilize the Commission&rsquo;s Sewer and Drain Models and ArcMap to track implementation of Green Infrastructure projects and assess progress towards achieving the Commission&rsquo;s compliance with phosphorus reduction goals.
</li><li>Makes recommendations for Green Infrastructure Implementation.</li><li>
Coordinate Green Infrastructure partnership with other public agency and environmental groups, including reviewing designs of proposed projects.

Qualifications:

Recommended Minimum Qualifications: 
Education, Training and Experience:
Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Civil Engineering or Planning, Master&rsquo;s Degree preferred; five to ten (5 &ndash; 10) years&rsquo; experience in planning, design and engineering and urban hydrology with three (3) years of project management experience. Municipal experience: administering compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act and the Clean Water Act, modeling collection systems and managing programs to identify and reduce water quality problems and flooding concerns. Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE); Registered Professional Engineer with the MA Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors. Must possess a valid Massachusetts Driver&rsquo;s License. 
Knowledge, Ability and Skill:<div>
Knowledge: Knowledge of fundamental engineering principles in designing sewer, drain and water construction projects; knowledge of city, state and federal laws and regulations relative to and governing water and sewerage systems, pollution control, water quality and environmental protection; knowledge of the Commission&rsquo;s procurement policy and knowledge of financing, permitting, planning and design of water, sewer and storm drain projects; knowledge of Green Infrastructure, and working knowledge of MA laws and City of Boston ordinances in relation to bidding, contracts, codes and environmental regulations.</div> 
Ability: Ability to interpret reports and construction drawings and specifications to others. Ability to apply engineering principles for the review of studies and for the systematic analysis of water and sewer problems and development of alternatives to solve problems. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, supervisors and the general public. 
<div>Skill: Strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficient computer skills including MS Office applications and Arc PRO. Familiarity with specialized software such as DHI Mike Urban, CHI PCSWMM, EPA SWMM, or Badger Meter data analysis is desirable.</div>

We are looking for a hands-on Handyman / Multi Technician with balanced experience across FCU air conditioning, plumbing, electrical, painting, and general maintenance, along with driving and operational support to ensure apartments are guest-ready and turned around efficiently between stays.This is a field-based role supporting multiple properties daily.Key Responsibilities1) Air Conditioning (FCU Units) &ndash; Basic Servicing<ul><li>Clean FCU filters, drain trays, and drain lines</li></ul><ul><li>Perform flushing when required</li></ul><ul><li>Replace thermostats and handle basic troubleshooting</li></ul><ul><li>Identify cooling, leakage, or airflow issues and escalate major faults</li></ul>2) Plumbing &amp; Sanitary<ul><li>Fix leaking taps, mixers, bidets, and pipes</li></ul><ul><li>Clear blocked sinks, drains, floor traps</li></ul><ul><li>Repair/replace toilet flush systems</li></ul><ul><li>Identify leakage and water pressure issues early</li></ul>3) Electrical<ul><li>Replace/repair light fixtures, switches, sockets, and breakers</li></ul><ul><li>Troubleshoot basic electrical faults</li></ul><ul><li>Install appliances, lighting, and small fittings</li></ul><ul><li>Ensure basic safety standards are maintained</li></ul>4) Painting &amp; Finishing<ul><li>Minor painting, wall touch-ups, crack filling</li></ul><ul><li>Silicone sealing in bathrooms and kitchens</li></ul><ul><li>Maintain guest-ready finishes and presentation</li></ul>5) General Handyman &amp; Preventive Maintenance<ul><li>Repair doors, cabinets, furniture, hinges, handles, locks</li></ul><ul><li>Conduct routine preventive inspections</li></ul><ul><li>Proactively report issues before they impact guests</li></ul><ul><li>Support apartment readiness before check-ins</li></ul>6) Driving &amp; Apartment Turnaround Support<ul><li>Drive company vehicle for:</li></ul><ul><li>Transporting cleaners between apartments</li></ul><ul><li>Moving linen, towels, supplies, and inventory</li></ul><ul><li>Laundry pick-up and drop-off</li></ul><ul><li>Support same-day check-out to check-in turnarounds</li></ul><ul><li>Handle urgent operational requirements when needed</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Proven experience as a Handyman / Multi Technician</li></ul><ul><li>Strong hands-on capability across:</li></ul><ul><li>FCU basic AC servicing</li></ul><ul><li>Plumbing</li></ul><ul><li>Electrical maintenance</li></ul><ul><li>Painting &amp; finishing</li></ul><ul><li>Experience in hotels / serviced apartments / holiday homes preferred</li></ul><ul><li>Valid UAE driving license (mandatory)</li></ul><ul><li>Comfortable working across multiple properties (field-based)</li></ul><ul><li>Physically fit, dependable, and detail-oriented</li></ul><ul><li>Basic English communication (Hindi/Urdu/Arabic is a plus)</li></ul>What We Offer<ul><li>Company visa and medical insurance</li></ul><ul><li>Stable role in a fast-growing holiday homes company</li></ul><ul><li>Opportunity for growth based on performance</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: AED4,000.00 - AED6,000.00 per month
