Role Introduction</b></h2><p>
As HPC Expert &amp; Service Owner, you will be responsible for managing and modernizing Syensqo&rsquo;s High Performance Computing platforms, which are at the core of our digital science and innovation capabilities. You will ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of HPC environments used by researchers and engineers, enabling breakthrough simulations, modeling, and data-intensive workloads. Define and maintain the roadmap for HPC services, ensuring alignment with research, engineering, and digital priorities.</div></li><li><div><br>
Evaluate emerging HPC technologies (cloud, hybrid, GPU/accelerated computing, quantum readiness) to shape the future of Syensqo&rsquo;s scientific computing landscape.</div></li><li><div><br>
Establish service standards, performance KPIs, and governance models for HPC operations.</div></li><li><div><br>
Partner with stakeholders to ensure HPC resources support innovation in materials science, AI/ML workloads, and sustainability-driven research.</div></li></ul><p><b>
Service Ownership &amp; Operations</b></p><ul><li><div>
Act as the primary owner of Syensqo&rsquo;s HPC environments, ensuring availability, reliability, and security.</div></li><li><div><br>
Oversee daily operations including scheduling, monitoring, and incident management.</div></li><li><div><br>
Optimize compute, storage, and network resources to balance performance, cost, and sustainability.</div></li><li><div><br>
Manage vendor and service provider relationships to guarantee service quality and innovation.</div></li><li><div><br>
Ensure compliance with enterprise IT standards, cybersecurity policies, and regulatory requirements.</div></li></ul><p><b>

Qualifications &amp; Experience</b></h2><ul><li><div>
Proven experience in High Performance Computing operations, engineering, or service management.</div></li><li><div><br>
Strong expertise in HPC infrastructure (clusters, schedulers, storage, networking, GPU/accelerated computing).</div></li><li><div><br>
Familiarity with cloud-based HPC and hybrid architectures.</div></li><li><div><br>
Hands-on experience with Linux environments, containerization, and automation frameworks.</div></li><li><div><br>
Exposure to AI/ML workloads and scientific applications is a plus.</div></li><li><div><br>
