KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li> 
The Construction Superintendent will work with the Subcontractors&rsquo; supervision, directing activities to project priorities, ensuring that required support is available, and monitoring labour and equipment levels for efficiency.</li><li>
Works to a 90-day look ahead schedule and provides leadership and guidance to site-based construction supervision (multi-discipline) and construction contractors</li><li>
Assist subcontractors in finding best method to execute the works.</li><li>
Monitor daily construction details and daily progress in the area (PPC).</li><li>
Understands Petrofac Scope of Work, and the detailed scopes for each subcontractor, together with an appreciation of the contract type, e.g. reimbursable, unit rates etc. On reimbursable contracts the Construction Superintendent is responsible for verifying that all subcontractor personnel and equipment are being used efficiently and sign off on daily timesheets verifying this. Construction Superintendent must be contractually aware, identifying changes in project scope and formally notifying the Subcontracts Manager before implementation.</li><li>
Supports Construction Manager / Engineer in finalizing technical decisions.</li><li>
Takes ownership of safety; reviews Subcontractor HSSE plans and instigating required changes. Oversee/conduct toolbox talk before commencement of work, briefing about the risks involved and the mitigation measures to be taken. Inspect the jobsite daily to confirm that housekeeping standards are met and take immediate action if standards are not met. Encourage the subcontractor and subordinates to report all near misses, unsafe acts etc.</li><li>
Verify ITP&rsquo;s and QCP&rsquo;s are in place before commencement of work and are responsible to ensure that the work is correctly executed the first time. Construction Superintendent must understand project quality requirements. Construction Superintendent shall monitor the Subcontractors trade personnel to identify skill shortages and training requirements.</li><li>
Ensure Quality Control inspection of material received and report any damaged/missing material.</li><li>
Ensure adequate storage &amp; preservation of equipment &amp; bulks before and after installation.</li><li>
Attend pre-walkdowns/walkdowns for MC verifying the work scope is completed as per drawings to reduce the punch list.</li><li>
Resolve Technical Queries (TQs) Non-Compliance Reports (NCR) that are issued to subcontractors.</li><li>
Ensuring the job task is performed right first time following QinC Quality in Construction approach. Actively participate in Quality control inspection in line with approved ITPs.</li><li>
Co-ordinate with Field engineering to obtain Client approvals related to Construction</li><li>
Knowledgeable in all facets of construction/field engineering methods and techniques. Review and approve all Construction Method statements submitted by Subcontractor. Ensuring industry best practices are used and new applicable standards are implemented.</li><li>
Attend subcontract/cost awareness sessions and understand the Responsibility matrices, BOQ &amp; preambles of subcontract. Review Responsibility Matrix and ensure subcontractor is complying within the contract. Review any work scope that has been missed within the subcontract with subcontractor and notify management.</li><li>
Leads the four-week schedule review meetings (weekly) and reviews the weekly work plans to support the overall schedule and commodity curves. Submit daily and weekly reports that identify work in progress and completed. To assist management, the Superintendent will identify all work that is falling behind schedule, propose remedial action and re-forecast completion dates.</li><li>
Share technical knowledge with subcontractors &amp; Petrofac staff. Training and development of Nationals, which involves shadowing, mentoring or on the job training for certain designated positions and supervisor junior engineers while job training is on-going.</li><li>
Clear roles and responsibilities to be defined for subordinates</li><li>
Provides clear and honest feedback to construction supervision on their performance and provides coaching and mentoring to enhance their skills</li><li>
Assist in Closing all punches.</li><li>
Coordinate closely with client and ensure all concerns are tackled.</li><li>
Ensure quantity reporting is established and reported accurately.</li><li>
Input site construction feedback in Construction Observation Form</li><li>
Provide training onsite if nominated by CM.</li><li>
Trained in lifting and scaffolding supervision (if required).</li><li>
Definitive knowledge in survey equipment; underground activities such as earthwork/excavation, concrete works, steel works, road works and other related civil activities.</li><li>
Prepare a detailed plan for each U/G network based on material delivery dates and Subcontractor resource mobilization.</li><li>
Provide day to day civil / structural support and advice to supervisors. Provide specialist support with regards to inspection, and meeting with client or subcontractor.</li><li>
Coordinate civil / structural / building activities within assigned scope at work site</li><li>
Ensure that necessary certification for materials is available for concrete works.</li><li>
Review the project schedules to confirm work sequences, installation progress requirements and completion milestone plans. Also, identify other discipline commodities that must be installed to support the civil works.</li><li>
Able to understand a material packing list and identify the material required for the installation and cross reference with the PO. Planning activity prepare material requisitions &amp; ensures their withdrawal.</li><li>
Preparation of work, monitoring of punch lists and red lining of GA drawings P&amp;IDs. After completion of work, ensuring feedback &amp; close work</li><li>
The Ability to understand and implement civil / structural drawings (topographic layouts, earthworks/excavation drawings, borehole&rsquo;s locations, fencing, paved roads and drainage, underground piping and foundations, architectural and conceptual building drawings, control room layouts, substation layouts, machinery shelters, service platforms, pipe racks, pump foundations, vessel and vessel platform foundations, columns and other civil/structural drawings)</li><li>
Ensure AFCs are strictly followed by Subcontractor.</li><li>
Ensure implementation of Petrofac&rsquo;s Civil, Structural and Building procedure.</li></ul> 
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:<ul><li> 
Maximum years of Civil, Structural / Building site experience in direct hire construction with an international oil &amp; gas EPC company and with subcontractors</li><li>
Preference will be given to candidates who meet the following criteria:</li><li>
Experience working in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS/FSU), Middle East, and/or North Africa</li><li>
Prior experience working with a diverse international workforce</li><li>
Good communications skills</li><li>
Familiar with International codes and standards (BS, ASTM.ACI etc.), concrete/asphalt mix designs, laboratory testing of concrete, asphalt, earth works and grouting</li><li>
Must have working knowledge and interpretation skills of building sectional/reinforcement and structural steel drawings</li><li>
Has knowledge and experience to solve civil, building, structural issues onsite and provide guidance to subcontractors.</li><li>
Computer proficiency, communication &amp; interpersonal skills, fluent in written &amp; spoken English, software skills to include the use of word, e-mail, spread sheets and presentation.</li><li>
Positive &ldquo;can do&rdquo; attitude &amp; strong work ethic, conceptual thinking, problem solving &amp; ability to work under pressure. Optimize the installation of equipment.</li><li>
Trained in lifting and scaffolding supervision (preferred).</li></ul></div>
